Temp ban for saying something bad about Frogster? WHAT!?

Well, this thread will get locked/deleted as soon as they spot it because it violates the sites rules against discussion moderation on the forums.  If you really thought you were unfairly moderated the correct process is to send an appeal to MikeB and he'll decide if warranted or not.

I'll bet I can make a new thread that contains a deragatory comment about Frogster (in the appropriate game forum) and not get modded btw. (because really, who hasn't Frogster treated badly in the past if they've ever played one of their titles)

One thing to note, swear words are not adjectives, and if you would not say the word at your work, school or church using it on these forums could get you moderated.  The banning of swear words is entirely up to the discretion of the mods and subject to their personal criteria.

If I were  a mod I'd warn/temp ban every person who used the word "retard" in a deragatory manner, but that's my own personal bias against the word. (probably why they'd never let me be a mod)

Yeah the sneak peak was a mess but they have made up for it,i have been playing since yesterday afternoon.

 

The servers have been up 24 hours now.

As for the game,i think it's a good game and has a lot going for it.The combat is fresh and the quests are like any other MMO but the graphics and client are very good indeed.

I even have a spare key as well.

I have seen from previous posts the way you express yourself and I am not suprised you have got a ban TBH.

Frankly there was once a time where my posts were constructive, politically correct, concise and every other thing that a forum mod likes. Then my banned virginity got popped. That time has long since passed.

In your forum posting career (or internet career) you get to a point where you recognise behavioural patterns on forums. e.g. you know guy A is trolling, you know guy B has a primitive mind, you know trying to explain something is hopeless.

Therefore you get to a point where posting what most here would call 'discussion' becomes pointless. The only reason for you to post is to either add fuel to the fire, zealously defend something you care about or just be like 'mhm'.

They stole everything TERA is about from Lineage 3 (half the devs worked for NCsoft before). They were sued for it and lost.

There's no way I'm validating these thugs with my money.

You probably got banned for how you expressed your opinion about Frogster, not for the opinion per se.

But i agree, moderation in this site is very selective, often a matter of how the respective mod interprets a posting or rule (which are set up in a way that they leave alot of room for bending them) and there have been often enough people being banned for a negative opinion despite their polite postings.

I still think that moderation cooled down a bit recently and discussions flow with way less intervention through mods. In my case, i have gone along without a warning/ban for a remarkable time now. At times i've had several per week and my inbox is still full of unveryfied messages -which on principle i never read though.

No , sorry, I have ethics (or try to) and I refuse to reward someone for stealing. The same way I refuse to use Facebook because that thieving b1tch Zuckerberg stole the idea from others and made a fortune with it.

Wether justice is truly independent or not is another topic, one that we can't prove either way, so no use bringing it up.

All I know is bluehole was sued in 2 different countries by 2 different courts, and lost both times.

In the real world, there are consequences for "slandering" a company or individual.  Usually followed by legal processes.  If you aren't willing to face these consequences then you should learn to hedge your comments.  Freedom of speech is great if used with responsibility, not thrown all about and expecting no backlash.  Also, you are on a website you do NOT own, so they can ban you for saying "Boo" if they wanted to and you would have no case.

I work in advertisement, my boss curses like a sailor, everyone curses like a sailor.

Its a way to take off the tension from the stress everyone is in, it comes with the territory.

I think perhaps my example was a bit bad. It was not directed towards an individual, but an entire company therefore the comment is even more acceptable!

Yes what you said is what would happen if I swore at someone here at work! That isn't to say we can't use swear words when referring to situations or software builds and things like that

Yes well I believe we already established your latter point. As for the former, there are only reprocussions if someone is present - who has a vested interest in that company.

 

E.g. I tell my co worker our client are a total bunch of knob heads. This is fine.

I tell my co worker our clients are stupid as hell in front of the client....shit happens.

I get banned from this site on a regular basis for telling people how it is without all the sugar and spice their momma feed them. You won't find me up here crying about it. If you really care then don't ever come back here. Becuase they will not  and I repeat will not ban you permanatly unless you threating someones life. Why? because every time you click a link to read a post you throw some change in the bank and no even their fake morals will keep them from allowing you to do that.

So, suck it up or stay away. Those are you're opions as  disatisfied as they make you.
