Yep took me forever to patch even though I have decent download speeds. Of course I was doing a lot of other stuff on my system but the patcher needed to be restarted all the time, it would pause!
I will check it tonight and make sure there isn't a new patch.
Only took a few hours to download and patch. I left P2P enabled, but limited the max upload speed to 64 KB/s. Got some pretty good download speeds too.
Umm not to burst any bubbles, because i am totally jealous of you all for gettign in the closed beta, but aren't some of you scared about the game getting turned off before release/soon after ?
With NCsoft suing Bluehole over TERA i am refusing to pre-order because of this. I just can't fathom shelling out 60+ for a game that has a good chance of being halted, or worse stopped completely because of litigation.
Anywho, i hope i am totally wrong and NCsoft loses its case, or even drops it. I really want to play TERA, i just will not play it till a month or so after release, or there is definate resolution tot he Lawsuit.

If anything happens it will before the game releases so preorder at Gamestop so your preoder can go toward something else if the game does not come out.

You can pre-order from Gamestop(eb games) and get into all the BETAs. My own personal opinion, I don't think TERA will be haulted, it just doesn't seem very likely, especially with BlueHole having invested probably 60m+ into the game already and so many people being interested.
I think they'd have to weigh the consequences of cancelling the game, Bluehole loses a 60m dollar investment and tens of thousands of people being dissapointed. As well as dealing with all the people who've preordered from various retailers or been charged full price at the En Masse store. It would be too much of a hassle and it would come down to, "Why didn't you sue earlier?"

Until this whole fiasco I really did not understand just how greatly the supposed gaming media jouralists lacked intelligence, integrity, and basic journalistic abilities.
One nobody blogger posts " news " usually something they have just pulled out of thin air, and another site worried about missing a chance for that shock factor quickly grabs the posting and reposts it as thier own, then another, and another, and another... none of them bothering to ever check facts, or investigate.
If they had investigated, they would have learned that NC was found to have made inaccurate assertions, and outrageous accusations by the appeals court in korea. All I know is that NC was found to have given fabricated testimony, and as a result dropped thier case in Korea.
Now I've read the filing NC has made in the New York district court, which in and of itself is strange in that NCSoft NA is located in CA, and Bluehole in Washington state, but hey anyway the assertions NC makes are as outrageous to the MMO industry as a whole as it would be if I claimed nobody be allowed to breath because I made air. The whole case is rediculous and reeks of spoiled children throwing a temper tantrum.
Now point of law, US laws make non-compete agreements unenforceable, your employer is allowed to have you sign them, but they have no legal weight at all, Mostly they are made for stupid employees.
Next point of law, all rights to creation belong to the creator, unless specific flash of genius is specifically contracted to another party in mutal agreement.
Frankly NC has no grounds to stand on and I have zero doubt the case will be dismissed in a year when it finally gets before a Judge.
I hope TERA EU gets a sneak peak this weekend, it would be nice to play at the same time as the US. As to textures, does this mean the EU version didnt havnt hi rez? I can't imagine them being any better, though i didn't notice any AA options.

If the EU client was only 17GB then its probably good odds that it did not have hi rez.

Yipes, I better repatch tonight. I wanna be ready to play all weekend.
BTW, turning off the Peer downloading seems to speed up downloader tremendously.

Just checked it and no patch here as of right now anyways. They said the high res textures would not be in till the second closed test.
Thanks for the heads up, turned off Peer d/l my self and it doubled my download speed. WIsh I would have known that 6 hours ago lol.
No signature, I don't have a pen
You had the client installed already? There is no new patch
I installed it yesterday and it patched again today
Does anybody know what time the beta will open up tomorrow?
lol just posted that 3 pm EST

Not sure what time the beta starts, only found the beta schedule with dates: http://tera.enmasse.com/news/posts/beta-test-schedule?utm_source=tera=launcher=gumball=beta
It would be nice if it started at midnight
Awesome
Just found this: http://tera-forums.enmasse.com/forums/news-announcements/topics/Closed-Beta-Dress-Rehearsal-2353
TERA’s first closed beta test officially kicks off this Friday, February 10, at 12:00 PM PST.
PST - 12:00 PM
CST - 2:00 PM
EST - 3:00 PM
just preordered downloading now. woot woot
Patching now with total time of 50 minutes.
How big is the patch? My patcher is doing nothing. Is it the supposed 7GB patch that has the high res textures?

Lolipops !
im a little worried. but if $50 keeps me entertained and occupied every other weekend for a few months. no huge loss.
I've got the straight edge.

Strange, no patch for me.
Just checked and I had no patch either. I even pressed play just to see the two offline servers ...
