Possible returning player

rubydragon5rubydragon5 Member UncommonPosts: 693

I tried rift a very short few days try when it launched and nothing really drew me in to keep me playing.

That said I was suffering from major mmo burnout, and rift felt a bit overwhelming also.

I like games with cool features also, does rift really have anything like that? crafting etc worth it?

I need like non stop pvp to satisfy my gaming needs.

How is Rifts pvp atm? Is it pointless, or is there risks/rewards to losing/winning?

Also whats the best server to move to? the one that I was on when I returned seemed a bit dead.

Lastly is rift very gear dependent? I was having some issues killing equal level mobs, im wondering if I need to upgrade my gear.

    1) Play lite.  It's 1-20 free.

    2)  End-game is where it's at in this game.  Levelling hasn't changed much.

    3)  Gear is dependant for PvP and Tier 2 raiding.  VERY important.  Lower levels, not so much.

RIFT is the definition of themepark, so everything associated with that can answer a lot of your questions.

For PvP, there are PvP rifts and BG's.  PvP rifts are open world, and I assume they are quite popular on PvP shards.  Mine is a PvE shard so PvP rifts are kinda mediocre.  For the BG's, 1.7 introduced the mercanary system allowing cross faction groups to form, so server imbalance has been solved in that regard and the ques are short.

For leveling, make sure to do the zone wide RIFT events and any rifts or invasions you see along the way.  You can techinically level up just doing that if you'd like.  It breaks up the monotity of the standard quest hubs leveling.

    Everything endgame is gear dependent.

    Hope that helps.
