The minute i would see a LINE infornt of a mob i would just jump in and try to get a 1st shot at it. Holy shit i would NEVER wait in a freaking LINE in a game for a quest mob *smack head* this screen must have been posed.
...
My wife just droped laughing at this Pic, realy so hillarious to wait in a line for Veken.
HAHAHAHA. Yes, this actually is happening for Vekas. This or half a dozen players trying to kill it and all failing in the attempt to do so.
I tried it yesterday on the EU servers. In Channel #1 everyone was unorganized and no one managed to get a 51% hit-count on Vekas, so they kept KSing each other without any result (quite frustrating BTW). When I changed channels I ended up in #13 (how ironic ) where they actually made a line like in Fony's picture and there I managed to kill him on 1st try.
About your 1-shotting him... That's a NO GO for sure. I think with your best shot you'll manage to lower him by a maximum of 25% HP. And as said above, you won't manage to get 51% by yourself, so the line is an actual MUST
Good to see OP taking a mature attitude and admitting its not his cup of tea, rather than like alot of players asuming because its a mmo, he should love it and it play precisely how he wants it to.
And if it does not meet said requirments, slander it on a forum
Bravo.. hope you get your refund.
I agree
I hope he gets his refund too! Else hell hath no fury like a customer jipped

If you form a group everyone gets credit for killing quest mobs in TERA.
The picture and your comment both are a disappointing reminder of the current attitude of MMO gamers. While the picture is going to one extreme of the solo-MMO gamer (so set in their ways they would rather wait in a line than group with other people); your statement goes to the other extreme, the douchebag solo-gamer who doesn't take any other player's time into consideration and is all about finishing their own quest as quickly as possible because MMO-god forbid you actually stop to help another player. That would cost you precious minutes in your race to max level.
I can only guess you never played EQ.
i actualy tryed EQ2 for a short time but when i see that you can just tag mobs and they dont give shared exp two things happen.
1st, i tag as many mobs as possible (rolling a ranged class helps) let others do the work
2nd people adapt to that and wont engage MY mobs and also get used to just ignore others that need desperate help with THEIR mobs since they dont gain anything of it. Very sad but thats what you get when you employ this half-brain 'no-KS'-system.
So basicly you are kinda right yes i dont care for others incase of finishing my quest and also i instantly analyse the given system for its weaknesses and use them to the best result for me. Most players do and those that dont .. well its their own fault.
That my basic gaming character. And its absolutely ok given that most personalitys on todays mmos are terrible kids that i dont care for.
btw i am pretty much the best beta tester that you can get, show me some shiny new mmo and i will try to break it in the worst way possible. gernal rule of thumb : People do not what they SHOULD do but what they CAN do.

Getting people in groups (what most did on Velika (EU) yesterday is faster then waiting in line.
Funny as hell to see though.
I`ve fought Vekas three times and have gotten him on the first spawn each time.
I walked up, applied everyone i could to party, he spawned, we killed, simple as that. Wish more people thought like that. :P
The line on CH #13 I spoke of (also on Velika EU BTW) had a lot of solo players and few groups. When I was in line and it was about my turn, I just took 2 players near me in party so we'd kill it faster and speed up the line

Welcome to the internet, thers millions of us. Gamedevs need better better systems to keep us in line for we dont forgive failures. You can ban us, we come back and are better at not gettin cought than before.

Making excuses for your own sociopathic behavior. How cute. Do you go around beating people just becuase the rules of life allow you to do so? I didn't think so. Why do you insist on behaving like a complete tool on the internet?

As someone who has been playing EQ2 for years I can tell you that isn't an attitude that generally develops. Might want to check your ego as well as you nor your minority are not single handily changing peoples playstyle and outlook when it comes to helping others. This HUGE leap in logic that because they figure out not to help you they also stop helping others is just laughable.
Doesn't matter what you do you can't even RANK as a good beta tester if you aren't sending in regular, detailed feedback and bug reports. A guy who just stands around in chat and staring at items sending in reports about them is several magnitudes more helpful to development than someone who goes around trolling because they can.
Why don't they just start the game at lvl 20+ then?
Lol great response. I love the people that tell you to "hang" in there. It doesnt take me 20 levels of anything to know if I enjoy , the combat, that animations, the spell effects the controls, the quality of the writing , the character models. All that stuff I find out wihin the first couple of levels.

So where do i make excuses for my behaviour? Just stating current status.
And no i dont go around beating people because that would get me behind bars. Simple as that. game =/= real life

Based on what you have written, you probably aren't. Just on what you wrote ...you would be the type of gamer to keep anything like that to yourself to use once the game hit release.
i actualy tryed EQ2 for a short time but when i see that you can just tag mobs and they dont give shared exp two things happen.

I am the guy starring and wrinting my fingers off then AFTER 'trolling' (what you call it, i call it borderline testing) the shit out of the game.
Regarding the logic leap, its just observed behaviour developing if one or more destructive elements (as myself) succeed doing their destructive thing over quite some time and gain alot by doing it.
Others follow. you can have a herd of lambs and 1 wolf you end up with some more wolfes and less lambs over time.
(i know that lambs IN REAL LIFE cannot convert to wolfes)

You know the worst thing ? most stuff that i keep reporting aint fixed about 3 months in.
For a good laugh: post a video of the exploit and a detailed explanation on youtube and diffrent boards across interent to have it fixed asap. (ofc you would edit your related info out of it)
I've used the term WoW Clone often enough. I saw it in RIFT. RIFT actually banned me when I compared it to WoW.
I don't see it here.
Yes, the UI layout is similar but the control of the UI and the control of gameplay is absurdly different.
Ridiculously different.
I don't know how different a game has to be before people will stop calling it a clone. The bosses we're seeing are different. My highest char is 20 and I haven't seen any dragons or lich kings yet..
Give credit where credit is due. They tried something wildly different. Its worse in some ways, better in others--you have to admit that much. In my opinion, its better in most ways.
Spec'ing properly is a gateway drug. 12 Million People have been meter spammed in heroics.
I now have my refund, it was done without a hitch.
Their game may not be for me, but for those that it is for, you'll be happy to know that they're support was a breeze and they're a company that has gained my trust.

It really needs to start a bit slower. There are many people that have not really played with more action oriented combat before. These people would die repeatedly and quit if the mob AI was as good as it was around 20+. Also, it's generally easier on new players if you slowly feed them new skills to use, rather than hand them all the skills you would have at lvl 20 and let them figure it out.

You are an example of the poor quality of gamers now. Glad you were not around for EQ you definately would not have survived in a guild there acting like that.
Also you would be a horrible beta tester. In beta you have a community that works together to identify problems with the game like bugs. You are not a good team member and bring nothing useful to a community. You are in a way just a worthless griefer exploiting game mechanics. Too bad I didn't get to meet you in UO or SB.

NEW IDEAS that can refresh the STALE state of MMORPGs

Or you can do what most do and group up then kill so everyone gets it.... Wow, yea lets all just line up and do it one at a time LMFAO!
