Adds features where others add fluff

OmiragOmirag Member UncommonPosts: 276

Mortal online is one of the few games out that when they do a expansion or patch, they add major features instead of fluff. Most games will add a new mount or something that does not need to be integrated into the existing system. Nortal online adds systems that must be integrated into every part of the game, since all parts of the game work together.

My prediction is with in 2 years Mortal Online will be the best MMO out there for sandbox players. It has the engine and most of the bugs worked out to where you can play the game without much interruption. The only thing it is lacking is the full 360 degree world creation. By this I mean I would like to see a little more customization in housing, armor (which is not bad right now and they are adding dye) and some final features like boats and what not. WIth the addition of lockpicking coming into play, the game will get a huge boost by seeing more threat to ones belongings.

Very good choice to plunge some time into. By the way, it is not a gankfest. If you pay attention, you will know where to avoid getting killed.

You must be new to the game.  DAWN was an expansion and a failure.  And we still do not have all the bugs and or features fixed.  Also where is the breading system that was supposed to be put in shortly after DAWN laid the ground work???  Sounds like fishing to me.

Right now because MO has very little sandbox tools are there is to do is PVP and craft to pvp.

Also can you please list all these non placeholder, working %100, systems that do not need tweaking because they really do nothing  features?

I loled... You see mate, mortal online is not finished. Thats why their expansions contain new systems... because it had to be in the game from the first day of release. We know mortal online is in beta and you cant deny it. Other games are finished thats why you see difference and thats why i loled

That's because in contrast to other games which add fluff, MO still lack the core features other games aleady have from get go, so yes, it has to patch the said missing core features instead of fun stuff and fluff.

Yet MO has more core features than most other MMO's without having them all fully integrated yet. That kinda seems sad to me.

Yeah, it's kinda sad that none of MO's features are fully integrated, not even core features like UI and Ai are working - two years after release.

Still, MO doesn't have that many unique features tbh. Most of it can be found in other games, fully implemented and working - for example EVE and UO both have more sandbox features than MO (games like Xsyon and Wurm have even more, like terraforming), and most themepark games have the basic core stuff that MO is missing.

The only thing I can think of that makes MO unique is forced first person view.

MO has more core features on paper than most other MMO's without having them all fully integrated yet. The sad part is that as far as actual wroking in game core features go  MO has less than any other MMO on the market and less than even some facebook games. Thats the sad part.

Having more ideas on paper means squat to a game thats been out and struggling for around 2 years. Features actually working and in game are what matter at this point.

MO does not have most of the bugs worked out.  There are bugs in from beta still.  If I see any more of the stupid fanboi/SV employee posts I'm going to post exactly how many bugs there really are.

If you knew anything about the game you would know that boats will never work because the sea level from the world design is completely fucked.

All houses in game are cookie cutter with no custimzation other than crafting benches.

Lock picking is not going to apply to player belonging, only to chests in the NPC world.  Thievery is worthless, and lockpicking will be another boring skill that is rarely used.

Henrik and the devs don't get whats wrong with their game after 2 years, and they never will.

Amen brother.  I have held off actually posting on this forum because I did not want to come off like a bitter long term player.  But I for one do not know how SV comes up with what they work on and then how they implement it.  The only reason I finally posted here is the rash of "Mortal Online is the best game ever and there are not bugs and the pop us booming" posts, which to me as a player are outright lies.  I like the idea of the game but I do not like the game.  I guess I am holding out for a miracle to happen and they higher someone that knows how to develop a game.  If Awakaning goes like Dawn I am out of here tho that is the last shot.

I happen to be in a guild on the opposite side of the war with you.  I only log in right now to pvp as well as most of the people I play with.  There really is nothing else to do.

But since we are talking bugs.  My #1 most hated bugs right now is the shield crash bug that has been in for MONTHS.  I am not going to say how to do it, but there are dubious people in the game using it to crash everyone around them.  How does a bug like that stay in a AAA game more than a couple days??

I'm not sure there has been a feature added to date that hasn't had some sort of bug.

AQ is playing the Tera beta, so good luck with that.  You won't see any pvp this weekend.

With Darkfall 2 beta scheduled for Q2, and Tera releasing at the end of April, we are seeing the last of Mortal.

Sorry Henrik, but you listened to the wrong people the last 2 years.

TERA isnt a bad choice if you dont mind the god damn cliche "kill 10 pigs" quests. I am not against quests, but I am tired of the generic killing quests and TERA showed no will what so ever to even try a bit and change that, sadly. I was awaiting more from it than LA2 with new combat and political system :/

Probably because they have lots of features they need to add...

I am amazed at what they have added and done to this game. Its getting better daily as the rising poulation will attest to.

Ahh jeez, here we go again...

Yep, must be viral marketing time again... I guess the whole debacle with the GM account and banned players has made PR go into full drive again...

I am thrilled they have not caved to the "easy button" crowd and maintain their vision. I am glad they dont just care about money (or this would be a WOW clone) and really care about making an Epic game.

What many fail to understand is that this really is a small company and perhaps the last time a real hard core SANDBOX game will be made IF MO were to fail. The more hate against MO the slimmer chance anyone will take this risk again. It took BALLS for Henrick to put his money where his mouth is and make a game for hardcore sandboxers who the industry has ignored... And this is the thanks he gets. Hate. For no reason but someone gets buthurt because there is real reprecusions in this game.

    Its sad really.

So now MO is better than UO and EVE.  lol And you are making this off of 4 months of gameplay or is it 6??  How does it take it to the next step from UO??  UO had way more sandbox tools in the 90's than MO does now.  What does MO excel at that UO didn't in sandbox gameplay??

Xsyon, Haven and Hearth, EVE, Runescape,  all indie hardcore sandboxes so how is MO the last??  henrik did not put his money anywhere he got investors.

And I have not seen anyone get butthurt because they died ingame.  We are butthurt because Henrick is an idiot.

It wasnt his money, but his daddys. And there is a very good reason for all the hate, he is simply bad at what he is doing.

That is where we disagree: MO will not be the last nor is it the savior of the "sandbox" genre. In fact, many of us think it just hurts it....

And for the record, many of us are sandbox fans and the "hate" has nothing to do with wanting to make the game easier or more themepark. <Sigh> I wish you people could get that through your heads.
