I recently got a bamboo tablet, and while I suck, I've been having fun learing how to use photoshop.

Tonight I was messing around with a lineart, liked the structure, and decided to just go for it and draw my mesmer. Since her biggest regret is missing out on participating in a circus (her sister has much weighter regrets), I figured I'd give her a chance to experience one ;)

(I suck at backgrounds, but I had fun throwing my norn in there... somewhere XD)

very unique style, semi impressionistic but with a high tech flare.

Maybe someone will be along  to tell you all the problems with the anatomy & balance (which you may or may not  know about already or want to hear, but I'll just point out the really obvious thing you can fix on your next go - her arms are too long.

As a (very rough) quick rule of thumb, your elbows are more or less level with your waist/bottom of ribcage (her ribcage is a bit short), and if your arms are stright, your finger tips will come about halfway down your thigh.

Nice sketch though, good energy; nice to see someone actually making an attempt to draw mass (and draw through!) instead of just following an outline...

    Nice sketch! :D

Good base work, any minor problems should be sorted now - so any size/proportion problems, placement, that kind of thing.

Then it's ready for some detail! :D - make a new layer, set your first ones oppacity down a bit, then start drawing some smoother line art, add more detail, elaborate on the people in the audience a bit (obviously don't need that much detail).

I like it - post any newer versions if you carry on developing it? :)

Put through the personal paces of my crippled fingers.

As a fellow amature artist I concur backgrounds are my bane.

I first learned to draw in a more anime-ish style and while I've been told I'm pretty good, there's no real place for my style of art in the western world. Your stuff, however, has pretty nice potential with a little refinement and practice.

I like that Einstürzende Neubauten logos on the background :)
