I bet those 800 are just buyers not sellers (Notice that they where banned becuase of "harrasment" not camping). Just go check & you will see the same people camping all the gil spots + NM spots still. Or the "fisherman" that has been at "that" cliff for a month or so without moving.
These bannings wont help the insane inflation in any way.

  • yeah but who always camp NM? and who camp spot where the mob drop the most researched item all the time!? its the Gil seller who MPK you because you steal them 2-3 monster in theyr camp spot! they monopolize area for have more chance of getting the item they need, sell it for 1M in game and sell the 1M for 50$ irl on ebay or whatever!

banning account doesn't solve the problems. preventing botting programs from working is solving the problem. they can ban accounts everyday and ppl can make new account LOL.

  • They Ban account, they need to buy a new box, Relevel theyr Char to the level they been and if they bot again they will get it banned again, so they will buy another box etc.... i dont thing there is a guys idiot enough to do so!

Well, i think they still make more money by botting and selling stuff in ebay.. I'm pretty sure these idiots did their maths and know it's worth doing it. They would make profits and hence buying the game again and be banned again wouldn't hinder them. Only if ebay stopped them from selling the items or nobody buys their items on ebay, then botters will have to really think hard.

Actually ozgamerz is right, I've done my own profit-loss projections and trust me when I say it is a very profitable enterprise.  Especially for those outside the US, where wages are substantially lower.

But I laugh everytime I see posts of this nature from any game where they claim to be making headway on the robust markets exchanging in-game currency, good and characters.  What people either fail to see or fail to believe is that these "3rd party" markets only exist due to user interests.  They represent a design flaw internal to the game itself.  Ebay, and other services, are a place that subscribers go to satisfy a need.

I could go on and on but I don't want to be here forever. image Hopefully people wake up and realize that it's a design flaw.

  • well, for myself, im against all kind of $ game selling on Ebay or everyother site where you can sell!

after played Lineage 2 which i really wanted to play ( after played lineage 1 for 2-3 years) but the Adena Farmers Ruined it by Pk SK, MPK, etc.... was almost impossible to get to lvl . 10 without spend 1 years :P( i put a little too much here) anyway, i mean those thing make game become unplayable by some time!

It says right on it they were camping. Just before the harrasment paragraph. It directly states they were camping NM spots. ::::01::

This isnt a game I play but its good to see ANY of the MMO companies doing this, very cool.

Well, it seems that many mature players such as the working class people whom doesn't have the time to grind and search or craft items, they would prefer the method of purchasing the items off ebay where it's much practical for them. Hence, the ebay method will always have a good serve of market. I also heard that in Sweden that they will make a game that will make players use REAL $$$ to purchase the in-game items. If this takes off, then it'll start a virtual shop where many gamers will spend more $$$ into it rather than the existing $$$ that is need for p2p. Well, it's a real life mixing with virtual life.. soon enough, we can't tell what is real and what isn't.. only $$$ speaks for itself..

SE had to finally do something to stop the failing economies in all of the worlds.  Gil selling is a person who goes and makes gil online, sells it for real money then transfers the funds to the appropriate person.  Why it's destroying FFXI, all characters have the exact same stats with no gear on.  ie: your level 65 Galka PLD and my 65 Galka PLD are DEAD even with no gear on.  How do you change this, equip gear.  How do I make my PLD more uber than yours, I buy better gear than you.  Better gear costs millions.  The fastest way to make money is camping NM's like I used to camp Leaping Lizzie for 500k a drop.  Well the really high end NM's drop stuff worth millions.  All the gil sellers would camp all the major NM's and HNM's and the statistical chances of an average guy like you and I of bagging such a NM are slim to none.  I applaud SE for attempting to clean up their game but the economy's of all the worlds are only going to get worse and worse with the supply and demand being so far out of whack.  Items such as raise 3 was up to several million in gil when I left.  The emp hair pin tripled in price of the short span I played and was up to like 750k.  So on and so forth.

I HAVE NEVER PLAYED THIS GAME, i just wandered into the forums, but my friend used to sell currency in this game as a rogue(not sure), he said he made good cash. but when i first heard this i was like ok whatever. then when i played L2 and realized how BAD BAD BAD this problem is in games, i told my friend i dont support it and wont game with him if he does it( at least one saem server),  and in L2 i fought the farmers there for the better part of my last 4 month.

But im glad they are finally starting to stop it.

but what i am proposing is a new idea, a multi game multi server etc guild that is dedicated to stopping them. BUT I DO NOT WANT TO ORGANIZE or ETC, so get this done someone lol.
