Sorry, got too spoiled with better visuals that I just can't get myself to take such a huge step back in time. Stylised graphics are one thing, but this is too much for me.
The graphics are puzzling. It seems to be flat 2D backdrops with sort of scaled 3D characters. The two don't seem to blend too well, just looks odd, although it may be the screens not showing well.
This game pops out of the woodwork every now and again, and then disappears once the initial interest dies off. And it dies off usually for the same reason, people will hype it, and then hardly anyone can manage to get in to play it, so people lose interest and go back to whatever else they were playing or following.
Last time, they were giving out a certain number of invites each day or so and there was a mad rush to get in. It ended up in a lot of frustration by people who wanted to try it, but couldn't get in. I'm going to say this was at least 1-2 years ago.
Although I don't think those graphics are bad at all and the animations are quite smooth, I DO see what people are saying. They look like cutting edge graphics...from 5-8 years ago. Something inbetween UO Third Dawn and Kingdom Reborn.
I'm curious, would this UO remake be different in the graphics department?

Intresting game, though there home page says that beta is still not open?
Its is open just make an account and hop in. There are players that will help you get started as soon as you enter.
I tried to make an account and it said I need to have a beta invite code.
let me see if i can send you a code whats your email?
Same problem. Why come here saying it's open beta when it's clearly closed?
I've played that. Was more like Diablo with private housing.

Weak, I know...
Isn't that the game that has been in beta for like 10 years. Those graphics were state of the art back then
Totally worth a look, great people in that game.
I would love to, but can't. It's invite only.

Unfourtunately this. When people say they want a game like UO, they mean the gameplay not the 15 year old visuals.

Looks like the same thing is still happening.
