"No MMO launch is ever perfect, but we are pleased to report that the launch of Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ on December 20, 2011 was a tremendous success. More than two million copies of the game have been sold, and the servers are full of players logging in to experience their own personal Star Wars™ sagas and to play with friends through the hundreds of hours of massively-multiplayer content"
Really hope they keep improving the game, not just changing things randomly, i wish to play GW2 and SWTOR. GL Bioware

big woopty do EA's made more money
I think the game still needs a lot of work, but congrats to the team that made it, and not to EA.
No..no..no..no..you can only play one. That is the rule. Now join a side and stop being so sensible. ;o
Either way ill end up playing a winner game, because from what i've seen in recent gaming news one of the above games is a must play.
"and the servers are full of players logging in to experience "
Ok I just posting there yesterday because people were posting how there servers are never full any more and a lot less people. I am playing the game and we all see this. This is so easy to prove.. why do people say "full of players" out side SWTOR.
I like others picked 4 servers very heavy and now not one is even full ever.. dont get me wrong there are some full but nothing like just one month ago. Again to easy to prove. Yet now its.. people have a life, working.. and people saying this Fri night- monday lol
So? Warhammer sold a million in its first month... It's not enough to sell a bunch of boxes in an MMO. You have to retain the customers.
Since the only number they've given us apples-to-apples is 1.75 million sold in December and 1.7 million people on the intital subscription, we have no idea the extent of the carnage... We can model it, and looks bad... But none of you will accept facts and data in your world of magic pony analysis so it'd be pointless to continue to beat you over the head with it...
And by the end of the year 1 in 10 will still be playing and people will be like "SWTOR who?" like every MMO.
I wouldn't waste your time. They seem to think every server is like theirs or they'll simply accuse you of being antisocial, lying, or imply you must be trying to play the game at 3 am.
1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical.
2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself.
3. Yes, Cpt. Obvious, we're not industry experts. Now run along and let the big people use the forums for their purpose.
