Only if I could purchase enough to effectively gain control of the company and make some much needed changes. Otherwise, no. I don't see CCP as a particularly wise or profitable investment as long as their current management is in place.
Another thing was World of Darkness would come with perma-death merchanics. I don't think that will appeal to the mass market (nowadays you need mass market appeal). I am not sure if the mechanic will be an option or applied to all servers. Hopefully it will be an option (like optional perma-death servers). Again, World of Darkness has potential but right now the IP is too much still niche. I am sure CCP will be profitable but I don't think they will reach critical mass market potential. However the game will definitely appeal to fans of the developers and/or fans of the White Wolf franchise.
Mass market appeal is the last thing MMORPG's need right now. We see lots of new MMORPG's come out with mass market appeal, and then fail. All the while a game like EVE with a niche market continually makes money and grows consistently. As the market gets more and more saturated the niche games will be much less risky than the mass market ones. Niche games will find a strong fanbase while mass market games will get their share of tourists but not long term players since there will be so many similar mass market games out there.

I will play no more MMORPGs until somethign good comes out!
I would not except just before the launch of Darkness. If they're still going at that point maybe. They're spread kind of thin right now with DUST and all, and I dont trust them as a viable company. But once it looks like they're going to do fine with DUST, EvE, and World Of Darkness (just as it is coming out) then yea I might.
Right now though they're not a sure thing as far as I'd be concerned.
I almost bought stock in Funcom, knowing that it goes up when they start talking about a new game (AoC, TSW), but that it needs to fly the moment they actually start showing footage of it.
The same would have applied to CCP when they announced Dust and WoD, but before showing any proof of either.

Yes, I would. Mostly because it, to me, looks like a solid investment. CCP's been growing steadily since they started out, so yeah.
With more funds, they could possibly push DUST and WOD out quicker, which leads to more revenue. So, again, yeah.
Besides that, though, I can't see what they'd need the money for. But I don't see CCP going bankrupt within at least the next 5-10 years.
Their so called steady growth has been mediocre at best.

There isn't a "right" or "wrong" way to play, if you want to use a screwdriver to put nails into wood, have at it, simply don't complain when the guy next to you with the hammer is doing it much better and easier. - Allein "Graphics are often supplied by Engines that (some) MMORPG's are built in" - Spuffyre

lol @ all the armchair stockbrokers.
Well since CCP is the one company in Iceland that actually weathered the recession and economic climate in Iceland, yes I would get stock in CCP.
Why should CCP suffer from the economic climate in Iceland? their costumer base isnt from iceland...
I would never risk money on a company that's run by incompetent people.
