I appreciate opinions are all subjective old boy, and whilst I agree with the principals behind the notion, all I would argue is that this viewpoint tends to substantiate poor opinions in the face of the obvious. Many things are a grey area, Beatles Vs Stones, Various Modern art, etc, I just think sometimes things are more brazenly obvious. Ergo bringing into question the validity of said opinions.
Everyone has a right to their own subjective opinion, I just think some opinions are rubbish, and therefore should be treated with derision. Like the music of William Shatner, any type of Religion, and the gameplay of SWTOR...

If that^..is the case, then why do you give them (opinions)..?
Actually, I have been playing MMORPG's since they & online was invented. Let me tell YOU.. that SW:TOR is a horrid game given this day & age and what could've been done.
But, like u said... perception is part of n opinion and if people are ignorant of the past, then their "opinions" are backed by very little.
Since SW:TOR was released @ 2012 and doesn't feaure an open world, has too many hand-holding and funneled content. SW remains to only be a marketing experiment, not a fan-based MMO.
If you've been waiting 12 years for this game to be made... it totally sucks! But, if your a total newb and only know titles like Aion & Conan.. then of coarse your going to sub to this mess. because you have nothing in the back of your brain telling you not to, because you have no idea, or clue.
Star Wars: The old Republic (how it was made & designed) is for teenagers and adolecent kids. No actual SW fan likes this game... just noobs, who can't understand how it could've been so much more, had the Developer tried to make a proper game instead of the over-marketed themepark design.

I'm not against opinion, just the idea that all opinion holds equal weight, or is equally valid. I'm not for a second arguing that my opinions are all correct or better, they are not, by a long shot. I know right, how magnanimous.
However I do find that in things like Games and say, films, people use the term 'opinion', as some kind of self validation, whereas actually you could argue for aesthetically better/worse variables within said mediums. Again there are obviously many grey area, which can be argued to-and-fro, perfectly well.
But this doesnt stop Aliens being a better film than battlefield earth. If someone thinks it is, then all power to them, and their right to that opinion. But I'd say their categorically wrong.
I appreciate that some people may be new to the genre of MMOs, and that they may even whole heartedly ENJOY swtor. But in this case, they are coming from a position of ignorance. Thus rendering their opinion to be less valid. Perception is of course important to the individual, but I'd still argue that more of an objective truth can be realized regarding how good something is.
