The problem with using the same EQ2 F2P formula with this game is that, EQ2 came in the time of de-evolution.. The time where all the roles from the classes were compressed into a few "main" roles that could all do that main feature..(The NGE Era)
BUT, everquest is different.. Restricting EQ to just 4 classes is not going to make groups very fun or diverse as they were back in the day.. I haven't played in a while so I don't know if they added lower level talent trees or something to make one player different than another.
Ol' Smed should have thought about what kind of game everquest was before throwing the money chart on the stand for his cronies to clap about..
Come to think about it, I don't think I want to see them turn Vanguard into a F2P game.. Giving people access to only 4 of those classes (when it follows the same "specialty" role as EQ)..
The classes are too different and each play and offer different things.. If they want to make a free trial, name it so..
what is you guys problem EQ ftp model is great. So what if you cant use rank 2 spells it wont make jack all diff to new players learning to play and as for aa Then 1k aa is fine for a none rader .
Lets face it you get the biggist mmo free to play up to lvl 90 and 1000 aa if anybody gets that high then they really should pay for the sub if not just to say thank you for letting me play this great game.
The worst part of this model is only haveing 4 races and classes but dont forget there is lots of old returning players who are only 50 to 60 ish who will be lfg and they are gonna add a lot of fun .
As for cash in game as one person said in ooc in the guild lobby the other day " i am 95 and have never had as much as 45k pp in my 10 years of playing Eq " so limiting you to 500 pp per level is really not a problem.
I for one who has been playing EQ since beta am looking foward to the 16th just to see some of my old friends who are comeing back and who knows they may end up getting that old EQ bug again and actually stay for a while.

I'm sorry but that is just a real poor way of looking at "reality" and life in general.. Look throughout history and find yourself situations where people could have just said "deal with it" and imagine the current state of the world after nothing changed..

You don't have to deal with it...you don't need to roll over and take it... its ok to question... and in most things, we would be alot better off as a civilization if we did stand up and refuse things once in awhile. Yes, life is much easier if you are a yes man, a bobble head, a stay away from confrontation at all cost kind guy...but you will never please yourself...your just making someone else happy.
