Yeah I think the tokens will drop off mobs in PvE as well.  They want both game types to basically be viable from start to finish, but he has said numerous times that there will be PvE specific gear/boss gear that you can't get in WvWvW.  I don't know about end game gear and the tokened gear vs. PVE gear etc.

I imagine they would want PVE slightly higher rate of advancement, and PvP advancement is always going to be skewed based on how many are playing I would imagine.

You aren't guaranteed to get rares and tokens, you are just on a PvE loot table like monsters.  Whose to say monsters don't also drop these tokens you can use to buy armor?  Also as you die your armor will break.  You could both have broken armor killing each other if you happened to get paired up against your friend server which would reset every 2 weeks, and you wanted to kill each other for normal monster loot when you could just kill monsters instead you could, but I don't see it being viable.

Quick answer to broken armor is to not wear any.  Armor would just slow down a coop kill fest anyway.  Not criticizing the game mind you, just kinda playing devils advocate here.  Im wanting and hoping that these kind of tricks are foreseen and prevented.

If GW2's WvW winds up being a coop kill fest than that will be simply inexcusable.  Why?

Because it's so freaking easy to prevent.  Just don't let players get exp from killing someone that recently died for a few minutes.  Problem solved.  It is no longer efficient to do a coop kill fest.

Are you team Azeroth, team Tyria, or team Jacob?

Wow, theres some seriously weird info at that AMA-thingie. Like this:

Q: How did you integrate underwater sections in WvW? I really want to fight people underwater, but I want to make sure there will be other people there.

A: There is a quaggan mercenary camp in each borderland map that can play a pretty cirical part of assaulting or defending the keeps in that map as gaining favor with the quaggans lets them build weather control stations that shower the nearest keep with healing rain for your allies or zaps your enemies with bolts of lighting. I assume that's enough to make people want to fight there ;)

Seriously, how weird is that?  image
