Plans for a new computer

Right now I'm saving up money to buy myself a computer around $400-1500. Should I buy a standard computer thats bulky or buy a laptop with wireless internet? If I go buy the laptop I'll be paying serious money for wireless internet or otherwise I'll have one with no internet but just for gaming. What do you think?

uhh, well that's kind of an easy call. If you want mroe power for less money, go with the desktop, If you travel a lot, and aren't too much of a gamer, go with the laptop.

400-1500 is like saying "I can buy a low end crap computer, to a really high end beast!" lol.

You can't game on a 1400 dollar laptop. If you want to game on a laptop you will need to pay around 2500-3000 for a decent laptop that will play next gen games.

Also gaming laptops are usually on the larger side and the batteries don't last very long so you probably won't lugging it around much at all. So, really there's no point. Get a desktop if you want to game, you'll get more bang for your buck.

I remember hearing that the Alienwate area 51 laptop's batt. only lasted 45 minutes. That made me laugh.::::39::

well, i got extrnee deal on my comp, two weeks after AMD 64 bits came out i got highest end motherboard of one 3.2 HT  processor(then fastest possible) and asylum model geforce 5950. for around 1000 dollars with 1 gig of corsair 3200 ram.Friend of my dad owned a computer buisness and gave me big discount, so at the time i spent around 1 grand for fastest possible machine. Now u could get my exact machine for about 1000- 800 dollars if u try hard, and asyl;um model 5950 may not be top of line but it is very stable cool card that runs at high end graphics.

BUT DO NOT BUY FROM STORE OR WEBSITE. build ur own or buy parts and pay shop to assemble it u save 40 to 50 percent that way. and that way u have way more customizxation options.

oh and do not buy alienware. it is so pricy and not worth all teh cash. THere laptops do only last 45 minutes (first hand experience) unlesss u pay 150 more and upgrade the batery, which should last in the first place. But if u spend 2k on a dell notebook its actually decent, at gaming for 6 months or so tehn teh technololgy changes and it becomes relatively obsolete. but desktops are a safer buy, as far as not becoming obsolte too quick.
