Multiple guilds question.

I don't know if this has already been asked, but I know it says somewhere that you can join multiple guilds. It ALSO says you can switch around to different servers if you want (but you can't change your home aka pvp server without paying a transfer fee) So my question is...can you join guilds on servers that aren't your home world? It would be cool to be able to take my toon, and play with friends in PVE when I find out they play, and I didn't know about it. 

It always happens that I find out that a cousin or a new friend plays the MMO i'm playing, but not on the same server, and neither of us wants to start over. So if I could be in their guild when on their server, and play with them sometimes without starting from scratch I think it would be a cool feature.
