I'm coming back to Rift, at least until GW2 hits lol. I played a fair bit during the first few months the game was out and rather enjoyed it but ended up moving on to ther non-MMOGs as my time became more precious. Anyway I'm now thinking of returning, but I worry that with all the new raid content the ceiling is just to high for anyone new to catch up. Mind, I'm not much of a raider to begin with but since raiding is end game like so many others, what choice do I have? With WoW, I wouldn't have to worry so much as with expansions they just wipe the slate clean but with rift, I'm just not sure.

you will be fine.
Agreed. Just find a guild with GSBROS on farm that is active in expert dungeons and you'll be geared within a few weeks of 50. Of course if you've got a friend with plat or with crafting cooldowns you can be geared for entry level raiding AT 50...
