For me I am just not a themepark MMO person.

They have ruined the fun in MMO's for me.  I miss the challenge and solcial interaction with other players.

    I voted NO.

Wouldn't mind updated graphics in WoW, but to listen to a boring 5 minute conversation everytime I pick up or complete a quest?

    Hell no.

i voted yes because i would play a completely graphicaly overhauled WoW. i would even buy the whole game again if the graphics were brought up to 2012 standards.

do not waste once cent on voice overs!

No, for same reason I wouldn;t play WoW. Its a generic game with great marketing and millions of people still think it's original. Millions of people would play it, stupidly thinking that they'd get those same feelings and entertainment when they first played WoW.

The thing WoW fanyboys don't understand is that you didn't fall in love with WoW, you fell in love with MMOs because it was either your first MMO or your first p2p MMO. It's the same reason why people still swear by runescape, tibia, and other games like that. If its a playable MMO and it's your first, you're going to love it if you're a potential MMO player.

A sequel, which wouldn't hold up to the expectation would just establish more ignorance that WoW is a great game. Either way though, that ignorance will always exist because people aren't so smart for the most part.

I think there alot of honest opinions on this topic but many many more people bashing WoW because its WoW.  Dont flame me for this but someone nexts to put an expiry on the "I hate Wow" Club.  Its been done to death and frankly I think the majority of us are getting sick of it.

I'm tired of WoW's and WoW-clones' gameplay. It was fun for years but the genre needs to evolve in terms of actual gameplay. I'm tired of quest hubs and raiding, a better story doesn't change that so I'll probably never pay a subscription for a "traditional" MMO again, even if it has pretty cutscenes.

P.S. How can you call WoW linear when compared to SWTOR? SWTOR is the most linear MMO I've ever played...

There's no statute of limitations on an opinion. If people dislike WoW, people will dislike WoW. Don't get so upset just because people dont agree with your opinion. Otherwise you'll live a life full of disappointment.

    Preety much agreed.

I would happily pay subscription for some sandbox-y like game that I could play long-term , that has real community , that has vrtual world qualities etc  -also cause imo microtransactions dont fit sandbox game,

As for WoW and WoW-clones - sorry so tired with this kind of game that someone would have to pay ME to play them again.

Was fun for few years ,but linear ,limited gameplay , sorry not fun anymore.

Dialogue is not bad , but Voice over does not really matter. Actually it rasise development cost & restrain game in a way ,so ...more bad that good.

No. What would there be to play? Probably start out with full epics , epic mount, 1000 gold, and at the level cap all during character creation.

  • mmoguy43mmoguy43 Member UncommonPosts: 2,770

Definately not. Especially because one of the worst parts, it's community, would follow it and the game design of mass appeal would continue to degrade what MMOs should be.

Unfortunately this is a bad place to ask for advice about WoW. The majority of the people here will bash, complain, and throw everything they have against Blizzard's MMO giant. While some people do not like it, subs don't lie and with over 10 million, Blizzard has everyone beat.

Therefore, the logic is, while the forums may be an overwhealming majority against WoW, the masses would be for it.

    World of Starcraft anyone?!?!

I suspect a huge % of players here bashing wow play it anyway.

it will be more than 5 years untill wow 2, since they havent announced it yet, and they usually dont release untill 4-5 years after announcement image

Disclaimer: If you are a Blizzard hater, you are advised not to read further as this post can cause a heart attack to Blizzard haters.

I will not play what you have described. Will I play WoW 2? Ohh my god, yes!

I buy every single Blizzard. I played Warcraft II, Starcraft, Diablo, Diablo II, Warcraft III, World of Warcraft and Starcraft II. Every single one of them was an amazing game and I have spent thousands of hours playing these games. Diablo III is next on the list and I can put it into words about how I badly I want the game.

Mission in life: Vanquish all MMORPG.com trolls - especially TESO, WOW and GW2 trolls.

I might, but only if they competely removed raiding or at least made it so other play styles not only have representation at end game, but can get their share of the best rewards as well.  Otherwise, I'll stick with Guild Wars 2 until Anet comes out with GW3.

Subs dont necessarily make a game good.

I always compare WoW to McDonalds. It's not particularly good, but its popular as hell.

Actually sometime McDonalds is just perfect, you do not always want the big T-Bones or 7 inches tall harmburger, you just want a good thing that you like.

the wow community is the gaming community(the mmorpg part at least) ... you'd be hard pressed to find anyone who never played wow except maybe the gamer category that is too cheap to play any game that cost money.

No. But it is critical acclaim, and that it has very high metacritics scores. And more importantly, it is a lot of fun for ME.

And sometimes you don't want ANY hamburger from McDonald., Burger King or even self-made.  Sometimes you have enough hamburgers.

(actually I don't eat them anymore - maybe 2 x year - if I really have no choice)

I think his comment went right over your head.

Your comment would be true if you actually thought McDonalds had the best burger... however, pretty much anyone with an IQ over 70 would laugh at you.

And that would be fine if that were the attitude you normally displayed here. Instead you typically go on about how your way is better than everyone else's and how nothing else deserves to exist because WoW is perfect.

I dont think there's anyone on these forums that doesn't get that you like WoW. So kindly try to understand that there are plenty of people who dont.

i don't understand how someone not like wow it has all the concept of a mmorpg and implement them greatly ... You may not like the art style or the visual direction but to not like the game is a bit to misrepresent the game... It has everything people wants open world pvp battleground arena , raid , group dungeon , crafting etc..etc..

Now you can argue that open world pvp is dead but that isn't because of wow but because of the gaming community .... you could even say the gaming community is at cause for always chasing the easiest route toward self gratification but to blame wow for people's laziness is stupid. No game will ever achieve the gamer paradox of having hard content and amass a very big player base because gamers today are just too lazy to grind 2,000 rocks to make their armor and kill 2,000 mob to level up so you end up with kill 10 quest and a crafting system designed for 5 year old kid.
