And people who have purple names, that indicates that they are in a guild war with another guild (not yours).
Hope that helps explain pvp rules in TERA.
That makes more sense. Kept seeing purple names and I thought that was the "I'm active for pvp" status.
Of course it also means that if one doesn't want to pvp the they dont' make themselves outlaws right?
So I don't understand why some people were complaining? Just take off outlaw status? Or does it mean that once you are an outlaw you have carte blance to attack anyone no matter if they are an outlaw or not?

Ya once your outlaw anyone can attack you even if they aren't outlaw themselve, that is an issue with the system as it put outlaw at a disadvantage. I'm sure tons of people already sent in complaint about it hope they change it. What should happen is a person outlaw themselve and they can attack anyone, only the person been attacked and fight back w/o outlawing themselve. Everyone else that wants in have to outlaw themselves to do so. Also it seem they took something out from korea, i heard in korea you can flag just 1 person to pk so no one else can interfer unless they flag you to pk, its like an item or something but it seem NA doesn't have it. Its not really a big issue unless the area is super crowed coz the moment you flag everyone jumps on you.

It's all just silly. They should just make it FFA pvp and be done with it.

With similar area-based security system in place as EVE has, I'm all game for FFA PvP. With only tiny safe areas in between swathes of completely lawless areas - no thanks. FFA PvP attracts griefers like a pile of fresh dung attracts flies (and the analogy is quite close to truth too). They need to be kept in check one way or another.

That was the original pk system and quite frankly it was a horrid system. The outlaw system we have now is fine, it just needs a few minor tweaks to it.
Outlaw at a disadvantage? that's quite funny if you think about it. My advice would be to use it wisely, there is a time and place to go red and its not meant to be spammed in area's you know you are going to be outnumbered 5-1.
Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries...

Personally I would be fine with that.
There were players on the pvp server who seemed to not be amused that there was "ganking at the bridge" but for the most part people took it in stride.
I have no doubt that there will be griefers in this game. Having said that, I think that will be the driving force for players to join guilds/alliances (well not sure if a guild can join an alliance but one can verbally make an alliance with like minde guilds) and essentially run in packs.

ROFL at the BAM that keeps jumping in the battle. Its like "hey guys! dont forget me *belly jump" lol
Wow your experience from Ktera shows, you trashed that first berzerker and handled the second situation with the sorc and archer quite well until backup arrived haha. So many people later but the lag affected the battle, frogsters servers were really bad that weekend.
EME didn't have any issues like that whatsoever, but Frogsters pvp server was full with a 2000 person queue so I understand why it was so laggy, they should definately open up a second server like EME did for PvP.
I mean 300+ person battles went down on EME with relatively no issues.
