agree, gameplay looks dull. it is good that this video is shown in lower details so good graphic cant distract me for seeing same stupid pve and boring gameplay.

    Agree, very dissapointed by GW2

This look like it would appeal to 14 - 24 year olds. The entire game is instanced. And looks like a cartoony version of Warhammer Online meets hello kitty Online. Why do you people assume that this game is going to be the second coming of jesus anyways? Even archage introduces more features, and looks 10x better then this... Not saying either of these games are better game then the other, but damn. I'm so sick of seeing the same old cartoony graphics in every new MMO. It's like they want to attract 4 year olds to there games now.

Good report. The engineer looks crazy, and probably more complicated than other classes, at least at first blush, but they never really appealed to me. I do like the turrets though. Of course, I loved the ritualist too.

You can actually rebind keys for weapon and class skills. It'd make sense to put them together, but you can change them. You can rebind your hotbar just like anything else.

"There are two great powers, and they've been fighting since time began. Every advance in human life, every scrap of knowledge and wisdom and decency we have has been torn by one side from the teeth of the other. Every little increase in human freedom has been fought over ferociously between those who want us to know more and be wiser and stronger, and those who want us to obey and be humble and submit."

The entire game is not instanced. It features a vast, persistant world that looks to be at least the size of Vanilla WoW at launch, maybe bigger. There is some instanced content, but the main game zones, beyond the tutorial zone, don't even serve up multiple copies.

Visually, the game uses an effect that makes things beyond a certain distance look like a painting, not a cartoon, with the visuals transitioning flawlessly between the more detailed foreground and the "painterly" effect in the back ground. Unfortunately, the visually come across worse in over-compressed fraps videos than most other games as a result. (If you compare live visuals on any MMOs you are currently playing with the average youtube video of that game's gamepley, you'll get some idea how much things get degraded in the capture and compression process).

You can see some actual screen shots from the Press Beta here, to get an idea how the game actually looks.

    http://www.neoseeker.com/forums/37890/t1717099-gw2-press-beta-screenshots-videos-20th-feb-2012/

Some testers have said not even the hi-res screen shots do the game justice.

There is nothing cartoony or wow-like about the game's visuals and the game design and content have incredible depth. I think many people who get over the initial learning curve and surrender the bad gaming habits they have acquired from previous MMOs will have great trouble going back to status quo titles ever again.

It's a good thing that some other big titles in development seem to also be attempting to make a break from the same old stale MMO design doctrine. I think any WoW clones currently in development are going to be in a lot of trouble if GW2 and others succeed in shaking up the genre.

This one shows off the transition from detail to the look of a painting the further away from the camera you get very well. (Click the image for the original then zoom for full resolution).

    This one is nice too:

It's still pretty much just stand toe to toe and barely move to dish it out until they die. *Yawn* Bring on Planetside 2!

Engi's in WAR could be v useful, in groups, but they stuck out like a sore thumb solo though and more defensive/work better in holdiing midfield role in that game too. Still one of the best classes in that game. Good in keeps/on walls too.

Will be interested to see how different the GW2 Engi will handle. Looks handy for camping in 5v5 pvp?

That is absolutely not true. Most skills can be used on the move, there is an active dodging skill and you can avoid damage via positioning and cover. There is no tanking in the game and healing is only supplemental. With no taunts and battlefield management being the form of control; knock backs, cripples, barriers, fears and grapples; and mobility and avoidance skills being the most important forms of damage mitigation; this is a game that is all about tactical movement during combat.

People who stand still and spam die pretty quickly in this game.
