Wow... surprised that I got a bit of Guild Wars 2 news from GB.tv first, rather than GW2guru. As for the "Trading Post" pic, it looks pretty fleshed out already. Wonder what more they can do with it.
It does seem to be pretty fleshed out. On the third row from the left under "top demanded items" it shows a number of orders by the items. I wonder if this means that people can create orders and fill orders via the auction house.
what i heard was that you can place an order on the AH, item and price, and if someone agrees to it they can fill the order. even if offline.
I really wish i could remember where i heard that though...
Ah, I think I found what you were referring to.
GW2 interview
From the linked interview:
Items you put up for sale may sell while youre offline, and the funds will be deposited in your account bank. You must be in game to put a new item up for sale, but you will be able to browse the market, bid from your account bank, or cancel your own auctions and offers while logged in to a web browser without running the game.
Nice, looks good and, thanks god, no "real money" version of one, like the imbecils from *the one which name should not be spoken* decided to implement in that game about demons and stuff.
P.S. sorry for being Off topic

Blizzard charges for a similar service.
Blizzard charges for a similar service.
True, they do. But I would like to focus on GW2 and not what other companies are doing. No offense intended of course, I just don't want the focus of the thread to stray.
Ok, so basically, if I want to buy something from the Trading Post, I can put in an order for a specefic item, where other players will see my order and fill it? Interesting.
its a neat concept, but based on how the trade channel works in GW i saw this coming. the player ran economy of bratering and trading is something that still excites me in the first game. I just got a bunch of honeycomb for a spare mini pet that i had.
and this is logically the next step in the auction house framework anyway. It is a cool addition.
I think the two press testers from Guru were too busy playing the game to do much actual reporting on it. Not sure that I blame them. The entire press beta sort of showed a wide range of reporting skills. Many from the fan sites showed that they didn't have much more to offer than any other fan might have in theor place, while some did a great job with the opportunity. On the other hand, some of the professional press, while doing their duty to report on the beta, showed they really don't know much about the game and haven't been entirely accurate in some of the things they reported.
