I see a lot of posts on here about how game a sucks because of reason 1 to 7 or game 2 is better because of reasons 1 to 5.
I hate to say it people but Troll or Fanboy .. [Mod Edit] let people make up thier own minds and do what they will. Not everyone will like every game .. like buying a car ... You know what you like and you know what works for you. Knowing you like trucks makes no sense to hear you rag on a car. or if you like a red car that you complain because you bought a white one.
Everyone is different, everyone has thier own oppinions and ideas of what is good.
The MMO gaming community will never be able to make a game that is for everyone ... it simply will not happen. if they even tried to do that you would be looking at over 10 years of development, 5 major languages, over a billion dollars in development work and when all was done .... Someone will say that it took too long to make or that they do not like the color of the icons ...
We are given the freedom of choice, forcong your ideas on another takes that freedom away ... and as I was taught as a child .. if you don't have anything nice to say .. then don't say anything.

How is saying said game is better than said game for reasons 1-5 taking away ur freedom? u can still make the choice on ur own.
lots of people post asking "should i play this game or that game" "which game is better this game or that game"
However it is quite clear that many people on forums in general will bash a game to death after saying they played it for 5 minutes. It's also quite clear that lots of people will bash games without even playing it. (just being a fanboy and defending their game and saying another sucks without even knowing)
This says it all... If you don't like it... Oh well. Deal with it how you may...

It's easy to jump on the OP, but isn't there a point where any possible fun of a discussion gets drowned in the noise of people fighting the same old flamewars over and over?

What you don't get many people WANT to know the opinions of others about a product BEFORE they spend hard erned money on said product. Now this type of free communilal service might irritate Scammers posing as legitamate game companies. You know companies that try to sell a shamfull turd of a game like it was a quality product.
There are technical metrics that determine "Good" or "Bad" in the aspect of "quality". People are NOT unique in their desires , competent game companies have made huge profits by being....(drumroll) ...COMPETENT. It's not a mystery, good games that have enjoyed popular success have and DO exist.

I have always found the major cause of problems to be related to people using terms such as troll or fanboi or QQ or L2 phrases.
People do make up their own minds. People have the right to give their opinion and make their own reviews. You take what you want from that. People are inherently competitive so it makes sense that people would "compete" to make their beliefs sound better than others.

Nobody is forcing anything on anyone. Forcing would be holding a gun to their head and telling them to believe it or die.. all they are doing is posting what they think. Arguing and flaming occur... big deal, get over it. Do not come to forums if you cannot handle that. Same thing with being in game, if you cannot deal with people, don't play a game that requires you to socialize... maybe focus on a RPG not a MMORPG.
They are your thoughts. not ours.. why can you have you own thoughts but expect nobody else to be able to have their own?

I wonder what would be the point of this forum, or ny gaming forum for the mater, if we did as the OP says.
to read MMO news we already have massively or ten ton hammer, if we cannot comment the goods/bads and debate whether and why they are actually good/bad, they might aswel shut down this board for good.

I like forums because i strongly value peoples opinions. On newspaper websites, i goto straight to the comments, on Amazon i go straight to the reviews, i don't even read the official description of stories or items anymore.
If someone told me getting stabbed in the face was good and explained to me why, in a logical and balanced manner, i would take it all on board. At the end of the day, no one man knows it all and the more opinions and disucssion you can have, the better picture of the world around you, you will get.
Gaming discussions are always good, as they usually reflect a persons overall outlook on life, they are kinda an extension of what we percieve the ideal world to be.
We are happy and content.. Because if we weren't we would not be us - We would be them. Those nasty ones that say bad things and by doing that takes our freedom to be happy and content away from us!

We dont need casuals in our games!!! Errm... Well we DO need casuals to fund and populate our games - But the games should be all about "hardcore" because: We dont need casuals in our games!!!
