Why do so many people have to come in and trash games they don't like within that game's forum. Can't there be one thread where people of like minds can discuss what they like about the game, without people coming in to start an argument about how bad it sucks. I don't say much on these forums, but I'm always around, observing, watching, biting my tounge. It's the same few people spending more time trying to trash (insert flavor of the month here) than to offer useful discourse or to actually play a (expletive) game.

EVERYONE knows you hate TERA, (you know who you are). We get it.

Some of us still enjoy playing MMO's, and would like to learn more about various games and find others who like to play said game, but you few make it impossible to enjoy this site at all. Do you have nothing better to do than to ruin it for the rest of us. Just because you are burnt out, doesn't mean we have to jump under the  same dark cloud you live under and sulk with you.

Grow up or move on please. If you don't like Tera why do you spend so much time talking about it? Are your lives that empty? Go play a game. Better yet go outside, you need some air.

    Do you feel better now?

-Letting Derek Smart work on your game is like letting Osama bin Laden work in the White House. Something will burn.-

Everyone knows you like tera so why post about it?

    Wait, nvm.

In all seriousness people who lack enjoyment have to make others suffer to feel better.

If my lurking on this site for the past year has taught me anything, it's this.

People with negative attitudes don't bother grown-ups. See what I'm saying?

    You are correct..

In my defense, it took me almost a year before I  let it happen :)

Beyond doubt the most silly comment I've ever read on these forums, and completely wrong. How it's possible to be a member as long as you have, without noticing the zillions of fanbois everywhere, is one of the universe's greatest mysteries...

I thought people were talking/bahsing more about GW2 than TERA. What did I miss here?

i know because i was leveling multiple character and he was alway here trashing the game .

( that some crazy hate and dedication , i cant belive anyone would do something like that just  ``for fun`` )

I saw so much of this last beta as well, it was out of control. People going on and on about how bad it sucked, and that if you like Tera you were a pedo. I had to turn chat off to enjoy the game, and it made looking for groups near impossible, as they had hijacked the starter zone chat. It did get better after Island of Dawn, which I assume is because the "chatters" never managed to level up enough to leave.

for game forum , you just need 5-6 people who post and trash the game and trust me this trick can work very good , you can easily change the opinions of the people who just check the forum for know more about the game  .T

people read some topic and think  this  game crap or suck and move on because they have read 12 topic trashing the game

I have to admit there are many games I almost didn't try because of this community, before I realized that most of the trash talk on this forum was just that, trash.

for mmorpg game you are alway better try them yourself now

Exactly.  If you let the vocal minority on this site decide what games you are going to play, you will be missing out on some amazing hidden gems. You will play a lot of crap, but at least you have formed your own opinion.

for exemple about tera , just reading the forum i was sure this was one other bad korean mmorpg and after play the na beta #

Tera has actually sparked an interest in Asian MMO's for me.  The actual community I've intereacted with on the website is also mostly friendly and helpful. I asked for help in finding a game to play between beta's to practice this new (to me) styly of combat. I found it very refreshing not to use tab targeting, but that is almost all I know. They suggested Dragon Nest, amongst others, and I've been enjoying it tremedously.

i have pre order the game and will probably play for 1-4 months before guild war 2

I preordered as well.  I am really impressed how they are allowing us to play in every close beta, open beta, early start, and to keep our progression. I know eveyrone complains how slow the game is at the start, but this helps a lot. You can only level so much each test, but that is saved. You don't have people rushing to level cap (besides the low cap available) you have weeks between test to control initial burnout, and when game launch they should theoretically have a healthy high level community that was taken to end game through a unique form of progression, as well as a world that should be populated throughout each level zone. I don't know if that was EM idea for this setup, but I like it. It seems wise.

usualy people who love something will not post in game forum that much , but when they hate it they do it 3-4x more .

It is much easier to be negative and nasty than to be sincere and try to have a honest discussion on the merits or problems with a game.  I love the combat Tera is bringing to the table, along with a graphically beautiful game. The questing is dry for the most part, but quests like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hHLo3KRkaRs&list=UULBoCauyQCG_D026jOtfoNQ&feature=plcp I found to be extremely fun, and conducive to the combat they offer us. The combat was so enjoyable, I wanted to do it more. However after playing SWTOR for several months, it was refreshing to have quest a box again. I think eventually someone will come up with a nice balance, but there is nothing wrong with a quest box for me.

(  im not sure guild war 2 will be good , i know tera good so i can alway go back to tera if guild war 2 suck )

GW2 is B2P so I don't see the conflict in playing both, or even adding TSW to the mix. For me I will always have at least one sub game, and many F2P game to keep be from becoming burnt out and on mmorpg trashing those who still enjoy playing an mmorpg.

I've also seen much more complaints about SW:ToR too.

And don't forget WoW, it's the most trashed game here on these forums. Newer games get more complaints over a short period, a few months or so, but WoW has been trashed daily here since release.

Yeah WoW gets harted on pretty bad here, maybe that is a good thing because well they have/had 12 million subs, not too bad for a really bad game as some here suggest.

My OP was referring to ALL the trashing. The SWTOR trashing was out of control as well, and Rift, and (insert every game I've ever enjoyed or hated here). It  isn't helpful to new players coming into the genre, or for old players trying to research new games. At least we know to expect it.

I guess it takes a certain level of maturity to talk rationally about what one likes and does not like. I know that trashing has and always will be done, it doesn't mean it is right or helpful.

As in, regardless of which game(s)?

If so, you shouldn't have posted this in the TERA forum, and you certainly shouldn't have said:

"EVERYONE knows you hate TERA, (you know who you are). We get it"

Yes I did bring it around to TERA because I was in the TERA forums reading all the trash. If you look at my first sentence I said games with an s, more than one time even throughout my OP. I intentional kept it mostly generic, because it's not just a TERA problem. TERA is the new flavor of the month which I also mentioned.  Please try again.

    Eh.. try WHAT again?

If you want a general discussion, not related to TERA particularily, then this is NOT the correct forum to post it in. That's all I was trying to say. Check the rules before making next thread.

The point is to get the exact reaction you gave...

Tho I would say if someone really wants to find out about Tera... I'm not sure how the EU forums are.   However, the EnMasse forums have some really good guides and a decent community (few trolls but not that bad).

Quite a few of the posters have played KTera or the Japanese version... so you can get some decent information if you read around.

  • sirachsirach Member UncommonPosts: 54

Yes I agree and I even mentioned in an earlier post in this thread how helpful and nice I thought the Tera community has been on the official site.

See, fans of anything have a hard time seeing the differences of what is a criticism and what is a troll post. It has gotten to the point that if you think anything is wrong with something that you are a troll instead of it being a legitimate complaint or problem that needs fixed. Fans are just as much of a problem for a game then what people consider trolls cause a company wont know what to legitamatly change till after people have stopped paying with their wallets.

  • NBlitzNBlitz Member Posts: 1,904

You tell me if this is a criticism or a troll post.

Someone playing in the betas has liked what he's seen so far. He says something like "I will be playing this for years to come. I've found my new home!".

To which, someone who posts a lot in these subforums says "lol good luck with that".

That same person then turns around and claims he's making legitimate complaints. Now, reaheaheally?

And that will always be the problem with forums. Certain people disguise themselves as critical when in fact they're not.

Hypocrites or is it something else? :)

  • rexzshadowrexzshadow Member Posts: 1,428

That post took me good 3 minate to understand right there XD.

So OP says " this might be my new home"

Person X say "Lol. good luck with that"

Than person X says they making legit complains?

I mean some player are senstive, and go over board protecting Tera, but these are fairly few and the people protecting Tera do give valid claims because we have played Tera. While you look at the people bashing Tera, many of them haven't play Tera not only that they never even played GW2 yet they get hella lot more defensive than we do when it gets bringed up in any critical view. Hell i got people who say there is no critism to be said about GW2....a game that almost no one has played....
