MMORPGs that do not require hardware T&L.

I realized (from my previous thread) that my choices of MMORPGs to play on my laptop may be severely limited by the fact that my video hardware does not seem to support hardware T&L. So, I just have two questions:

1. Does the ATI Radeon 320M IGP really does not support hardware T&L? If it does, do I need a certain driver to "enable" it? If not, is there a way around it (other than buying a new laptop)?

2. Assuming that it does not support hardware T&L, which MMORPGs do NOT require hardware T&L support?

Thanks.

Laptop specs:

HP Pavilion ze4200

AMD mobile Athlon XP 2400+

512 megs PC2100 DDR RAM

ATI Radeon 320M IGP (using 128 megs from main memory)

Conexant DirectX audio

60 gig hard drive

Windows XP Home with all updated and service packs

I have a similar situation in that while I'm traveling I have to use my company laptop which has no hardware T&L. I haven't tried all MMOGs on it, but here is a list of those that I do know about:

EverQuest2: Won't even install, complaining about the hardware.
WoW: Installs but won't run, complaining about the hardware.
CoH: Installs and runs, but looks like something out of a bad dream. Not really playable, performance was nightmarish.
AO: Runs and plays just fine.
UO: Runs and plays just fine (2D or 3D clients)
DAoC: Runs and plays just fine.
EVE: Installs, and I can log on into a station, but I cannot enter space at all. This works ok for managing a financial empire, but I cannot travel or engage in space at all.

That's about all I have tried on that laptop.

Thanks for your reply, this helps. I noticed you did not mention EQ1. Looking at the web site, it seems like I can run it on my laptop. I had minor success with EQ2, it loads and even runs, but the quality and performance are too poor for the game to be playable.

I got World of Warcraft to run great on an old Geforce 2 TNT with no t&l. Just ad -opengl at the end of the target so it looks like this: "C:GamesWorld of WarcraftWoW.exe" -opengl depending on where you have it installed.

Is this an option on the WoW executable? Is there a way of finding out if there's a similar option with EQ2, FFXI and the like?

I did not try EQ1, but I would expect it will probably work. The engine is pretty old.

Yea, this is an option for WOW only. I tried it with EQ2 to no avail. Funny though, EQ2 won't run on my comp with a GeForce 4 MX which does have T&L. However EQ2 also want's a video card with 4 pixels, or something like that. Glad I only tried the free trial.
