The third portion of their adventures in the Norn starting area are available on Yogscast now for those that may be interested. Just an fyi
1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical.
2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself.
3. Yes, Cpt. Obvious, we're not industry experts. Now run along and let the big people use the forums for their purpose.
OP; you posted an interesting and disappointing video. Yes, it made your point. What I found disappointing was the spawning of normal mobs that occured in the backgroud. They just pop-up out of the ground. How hard would it have been to have the Dredge open a trap door and climb up rather than just jump up without so much as a trace in the snow?
Sigh, there is still time to fix it, but I doubt they will. Am I being too picky?
god i already miss the ingame insane graphic quality of gw1!i hope this isnt the best streamer can come up with quality wise cause i bet gw2 live stream wont live or make enough money to put bread on the table
I agree. The quality of the graphics in GW2 is just NOT upto the quality I expected from ArenaNet, not even close. I think that ArenaNet is going to need to "up thier game" if they really want to be an e-sport game.

I would say yes, lol
It's nice to have some awesome presentation for mobs, but I think it would be a lot more difficult than you may be assuming it is. If they did do something like that, then they would need to do it in a similarly unique and race specific fashion for every normal mob in the game. And I'm positive there are plenty of varied mobs because, if there isn't, then that's a whole larger problem unto itself.
I'm content with them just popping out of the ground, at least, for now, because it's pre-release and that seems more like gravey. With all the other major things they're doing that I'm excited for, I can nevermind they didn't put a cherry on top of a cupcake that already has icecream and sprinkles ^^

I have no idea if it is true or not but some posters were saying that many including Yogscast tend to record their footage on low graphical settings due to ither that was what the beta defaulted to and many for recording purposes. Whether this is actually the case or not I cannot say. They seemed sure of it however.

Also I don't see where GW1 excels in graphics. Heck, it certainly doesn't excel in animations.
Yeah, it really didn't, not that I've not heard that many times before . A lot of devs have used anets trick here, bloom. Add a soft glow to everything it does wonders to typical everyday MMO graphics.

I was just about to start a thread about this video and the newest one they posted today. The two newest videos show what it might be like to adventure in the world.
The newest one shows them moving around to the different events that are going on in the area and doing different things to finish the events. One example was that they had to catch Dolyak calfs in the area and when they did, the mothers started to attack them. Then out of the ground came the skritts to kill the calfs, that they then had to protect. All that in one little starter event.
Then at the end of the video when they wanted to move out of the Norn starter area and into the next map, an escort event started which would of led them to an area that had an event that they never completed. Awesome stuff in my oppinion.
In a nutshell: EPIC! Innovation and Excitement are going to be mainstays of this game and IMO it can not come out soon enough.
Is it bad that I spend like 3 hours a day watching GW2 videos, pineing to play isntead of actually playing any other game. When you compare other games side by side its like WTF, why even bother it isnt going to be as good as GW2 lol.
Playing: GW2 Waiting on: TESO Next Flop: Planetside 2 Best MMO of all time: Asheron's Call - The first company to recreate AC will be the next greatest MMO.
