Hi i recently got made redundant and am looking for something to fill the next 5+ months until guild wars 2 release.
Im looking for a game with alot of customization while leveleing (skills/stats)/looting. With great solo leveling play with no issue of players constantly ganking me(no forced pvp servers). I dont really care about the end game content.
My ideal game would have some form of ai partner/pet/henchmen/party perhaps just to increase the amount of strategy/customization and take away the 'lonliness' feel. Though if theres alot of looting/skill points/talents while leveling it wouldnt bother me too much not having them.
It kinda sounds like i would be best suited to a single player game but i see nothing coming out on pc in last few years so i thought to try another mmo. I have done everything in guild wars 1 - completed hall so that isnt an option. I played dragon age origins to death and was hoping to not have to go back to older single player rpg games like NWN which i already spent some time on.
Im currently subed to WoW but doing 2-3 raids a week on already boring content when i have all classes alts 85, nothing else to do there.
Looked alittle at the old republic the leveling seemed interesting and afaik it has an ai partner. I dont really care about end game. maybe there is other games i didnt see. im more of a fan of fantasy than sci-fi but either could work.

last i heard about ai ,it was forsaken world!i think they forgot to put it in the game or we didnt notice it!
Try Champions Online. I'd argue that the game is more about the customization than the content. The content is really just something to do with your custom build until you decide to change it or roll a new character. In order to get the massive amount of build customization available, you'll have to subscribe to get a freeform character.
You might be well suited for SWTOR given your requirements. PVP is terrible and no endgame, and it has a companion. It's story is actually pretty strong and fun. It won't take 5 months to blow through it though more like a month or two...
