Maybe they are actually paid by rival companies to go viral with their hate for SWTOR?

Or maybe they simply have brain damage.

Or maybe, just maybe, the gaming community generally does not like EA's attempt at another mmorpg/single player game and they are willing to talk about that opinion? Shocking right? that people on a gaming forum would in fact talk about the games they like and do not like.

By your own rational, you could by your own theory say that SWTOR fanboys are just trying to keep their jobs and or are hired by  EA.

Do you realize how silly that sounds?

That or people don't like the dead sterile world of SWTOR and find having someone tell them what the story is and have no way to meaningfully influence this rather than them go out into a "living breathing world" that isn't just a marketing lie and actually interact with other people to make their own story. Of course I could be 30 years younger than I am with a mental disorder or an employee of another MMO publishing company who has spent time randomly posting about other things on an MMO forum to hide the fact, or it might just be the game is shit for the reasons above and more.

Nah I would say your sig screams "Butt Hurt SWG fan".

Sure, doesn't stop my view of SWTOR being true. They said they were going to copy WoW years ago, but no one was expecting a dollar store version for $200m, if I want to watch a clunky set of Star Wars scenes, I can always watch the prequels, at least hat way I can play a decent game while I do.

Well that is about all you can do, cause you wont being playing a legitimate version of the PRECioUs anytime soon. Enjoy.

Asking Devs to make AAA sandbox titles is like trying to get fine dining on a McDonalds dollar menu budget.

I am not sure what you mean, the only way I could legitimately play it again would be if someone would reverse engineer and write from scratch the entire server side software using no SOE code, for me to use my original SWG discs on, and what are the chances of that happening.

You must be around 13-14 years old to say something like that, it really shows that this game was aimed at the 13-19 crowd.

Though I don't think the majority of haters here fit the original post, I do think there are people here who have had their accounts deleted or banned  (and reborn) or an alternate account with a different email and IP address with nothing better to do then hover like vultures in the forums of a game they don't like. I just don;t get the rational. My favorite idiotic response is, "to save the money of others"...yea right. Its like get a life.

Anyway, this thread will probably be locked.

I don't hate SWTOR. No one made me buy it. I bought it, tried it, it wasn't for me. I already played World of Warcraft for 6 years, was hoping for something that felt a little more different.

    Just because I won't give them my 15/month doesn't mean I'm a hater.

I never thought a game company would be so brave as to make some of these innovations, but my worst nightmare has come true. I mean who could have guessed that in an interactive video game, a game company would dare replacing gameplay with long mini-clips and voice overs. Brilliantly taking the need for the gamer to tax himself by reading or touch the keyboard or mouse. So bold as to offer the gamer choices but clever enough to make those choices completely inconsequential. So daring as to charge 15$ a month for those same movies and voice overs in the face of competition that is moving away from the subscription model.

My company is so terrified of the intellectual collosus that is EA/Bioware that they pay 10,000 haters 10$ a post in the hope of salvavaging their reputation and hiding their own lack of insight and innovation.

But I, give up, I yield to you Bioware and fans. The OP has showcased why you can never ever be defeated. You are just too smart, all of you!

    Goodbye!

You're completely wrong about taking away the need to touch the keyboard.  I've already gone through 3 spacebars.

    I lol'ed

This is a reasonable and uncommon response. It is very similar to World of Warcraft, I agree, but it was just enough with the story instead of clicking accept on a wall of text I wasn't reading in a non fantasy genre to peak my interest. For how long I don't know, as I have Skyrim always tugging at me lol...and I still haven't played the Witcher 2 :-)

Though I enjoyed the storylines quests and voiceover work, I didn't enjoy much else on my way to lvl50. The world is just so cardboard and fake to me. Hell, it doesn't even have day/night cycles. I can see how some people enjoy SWTOR, but for me, it was lacking the most important thing in an MMO: soul.

I agree they could make it feel more alive and I agree I think it was stupid not to have day night cycles like every MMO before it. They did say however they have heard us with regard to the desire to add life and are working on that. Don't think we will see that though for patch 1.2. Hopefully patch 1.3. I'm just happy we will finally get the texture update and the movable UI in patch 1.2,

The thing is, why are they seeing it 'now', rather than before release, or back when beta testers were saying similar things?

I also think it is silly, that someone that had made the same criticism that the Devs announced they 'agree with', would have been branded a 'hater' just the day before.

Personally, I just dont like the game, and I've played from second day of pre-access til middle of february. It has no feeling to it, it is cold and unlikable to me (pointing out this is to me, not anyone else). Feels like they should have used the Guild Wars 1 idea and have no monthly sub, cuz it feels like a single player game with other players in the background. Mostly it feels effortless, even failing n dying. I understand this kind of game is needed to keep the attention of those *bleeeeping* teenboppers that are gaming now so I hope they stay there and enjoy themself.

I wish I got paid for hating crappy MMOs.
Tho' I wonder what kind of brain damage it takes to actually pay to play a crappy MMO?
    The brain boggles.

I used to play MMOs like you, but then I took an arrow to the knee.

How many TOR players support EA?

How many SWTOR Fanbois (not fans, who simply like this game, but obsessed people like the OP who cannot read even the most legitimate of criticisms about their favorite game without going into a foaming at the mouth furor) does it take to change a lightbulb?

Answer: NONE, as the lack of illumination is WORKING AS INTENDED..

To the OP. It may suprise you but many of us who take issue with this game aren't doing so because we hate it or Bioware. The problem we have is we feel that in its current state SWTOR is a lesser game than the IP deserves and a lesser game than Bioware is capable of making. We complain in the hopes that Bioware will hear our dissaproval (and there are a bloody great lot of us with these feelings, we aren't some tiny minority) and think about making some improvments.

We are so vocal about our displeasure because we want the game to be a success, not becuase we hate it and want it to die. The free ride given to Bioware by the professional gaming review sites (though now we are seeing a few cracks appear as the honeymoon period wears off) and infatuated fans such as yourself aren't helping to protect the game you love, but to kill it.
