Am I missing something or are there absolutely no penalties for PKing in this game? I mean sure your name turns red, and I read the patch notes and it sounds like that is the only thing that happens. At least in Lineage 2 when your name turned red you couldn't go into certain towns because of guards, and back in the day reds had a chance of dropping things. While playing in the beta I had groups of 3 or more attack me with absolutely no penalty quite often, which I guess is fine considering I chose to play on a pvp server, I'm just wondering if I didn't see something pertaining to this.

No penalty, besides being red and having anyone able to attack you at anytime without going red themselves.

 

No penalties is how it should be, creating penalties limits how many people are actually going to PvP. I know if I couldn't enter cities when red I wouldn't have PvP'd.

afaik, there is no penality yep, but u are safe in towns and some smaller "hide-outs" iirc.

This game is so much fun and something that often times people don't mention is the overall support.  Their support is nothing short of amazing.  I've had problems with my graphics card and they have been in constant communication with me, and not just basic stuff, they try to get to know you.  Really want this company to succeed.

Lol ok there is 1 penalty, you lose a crystal if you die while flagged. At lower lvls that doesn't mean that much, but when you get higher lvl, and those crystal start getting expensive it does.

 Afhn I wouldn't be such a fan of TERA if I didn't feel like the mods/devs were almost my buddies, they are all pretty awesome.

In games like L2  (using this example cause OP mentioned), there is no penaltys for PvP, only for those who kill someone that dont fight back. PvP envolve at least 2 ppl fighting, for other situations is "gank", "pk", etc.

At least TERA have PvE servers for those who dont want ffa pvp.

Well they are still doing okay even after all the constant suing by NCsoft so I mean they are doing pretty well. I don't like their ideals (stealing the Lineage 3 code and releasing it as tera) but they are a really good company, releasing patches fast and listening to people. So I don't know which side of the fence to be on.

 They didn't use the code for TERA, they had to pay NCsoft for stealing it and didn't use it in the game.

 

Even though the developers for TERA are the ones who made the code, they just left NCsoft for whatever reason and decided to pursue TERA.

 

But we're not talking about Bluehole here, we are talking about TERAs publisher En Masse, they are just amazing guys and  all of the mods put up with so much bullcrap on the forums and are still nice about it. Patch notes, ticket response and rules are all thought out and have tons of humor put into them.

haha...yea, i met a few of the guys, in particular Mike b that run the site at NYCC and they seemed really cool.  Mike actually gave m e my title because in every pannel I was at the microphone asking pvp questions.
