I am totally disappointed with CE ingame items. I dont care about posters etc.
All CE items are pretty useless. 5 days bank? Is that a joke?

The 5 day bank seems to be the sillest, Would making that permanent with a cooldown of say 1 hour be too gamebreaking?
Unless you want the statue, the CE isnt worth buying, digital or otherwise.

They should have included a free character slot, because they will most likely provide players with 5 character slots with the game (what they gave with the press beta).
Sorry, this thread is a joke. Seems like people always find a way to whine and moan more. An average gamer would not care getting CE because it has posters, artbook, Jeremy Soule's music, and so forth. An average gamer like yourself should just get the digital edition since you expressed you don't care about the art, music, and lore behind the GW. Ingame item? What you want p2w ingame items?
I'm getting just the regular digital edition since I already have 30/50 HoM, I'm gonna get plenty of ingame items from HoM.

I think it was orginally proposed as a joke. One that someone took serious. I fully agree that five days is just unacceptable. Can I trade that in on a special dance?
Why are there so many PvP focused items in the CE? I mean come one two out of the five virtual items are focused on PvP. I guess a PvP-er could as why there are so many PvE items but really, lets get serious here; we have a mini (a cool looking charr that only some people know about), a banking golem (with a built in five day experation timer), a summoning spell (that is also an elite), a Chalice of Glory (to unlock rewards in PvP) and a Tome of Influence (that is designed for PvP guilds).
I am very torn, the best (as I see it) item in the photo of the contents is not even on the list. What item is that? The metal box with a map of tyria embosed on it! So, after discussing it with my wife, we will NOT be getting two collector's editions of the game. We will be getting one CE and one Digital delux version of the game. I wonder how much people will be paying for a Chalice of Glory and a Tome of Influence (if it can be sold).
I'm gonna get 34+ ingame items and I'm just going to buy the standard digital edition.

I will buy the standard edition and then use money on extra character slots.
The bonus items don't appeal to me that much.
Would have been fine for me if CE was about $100-120 without figure.
Extras I don't really need: Metalic box, figure, limited use digital items (expect for pet). No idea about the soundtrack, but I would really like to have the extra artworks and artbook.
Guess I'll just get the regular game and put extra cash to character slots instead.
I'm thinking about the digital edition, only if they let you download in advance before game starts. Otherwise it'll eat up the three days headstart play. Major advantage of headstart is to allow you to claim names for your characters before someone else does.
I'm more excited for a release date than anything else now.

wow, non of those items matter. Except the mini (if its tradable it can cost a lot), the rest is just bollox. So, dont buy the CE, but the Delux version. I will buy the normal version, and later will waste more money on the shop if when something interesting came.

Only one guy said something about the elite skill. I thought it was kind of stupid to put something like that as a CE item. Totally not in the spirit of the original guild wars.
this is pure speculation.. they havent said how many slots for sure we would get.. some ppl think 4 like GW1, some think 5 because someone accidentally said that and then took it back.

am I missing something but why is the tome of influence for PVP guilds? I even reread the item description.. looks to be for all guilds. IMO the only questionable item is the golem.. I think it may be there for early play to make things easier until you have more bags and better access to your bank... but thats me speculating.
looked it up, influence is for all guilds and I would think it more useful for PVE guilds who do not PVP to get influence.

From 5 ingame items, 2 are one time use, one have 5 days duration. One pet and a useless ring.. so much for a collector edition in 2012.. I did expect more from such a respectable company. Sadly, looks like things are changing when it comes to money.
you also get an elite skill.. probably available right away which will be nice.
This, one extra character slot would be a great deal over 5 day bank slot.
a char slot would be nice yes but his statement is still speculatation.. we dont know how many slots. Some think 4 most think 5 and a few hope for 6.
The CE looks fine. I really like that book, and the Rytlock statue is what makes the cost so high. I had planned to get this edition, but at $150, it's hard to keep to that plan.
The DD is what I'm the most disappointed with. An elite skill that won't get much use, a mini pet, and three temporary/consumable items are not worth $20. Of these, the pet is the best because it's cosmetic. The elite skill will probably be weaker than a racial elite, making it effectively a cosmetic item that takes up an elite slot. I would have gladly gotten this edition if it came with an extra character slot or bank space, but as it is, I'm left deciding between the DE and CE.
If the game is on Steam with the pre-purchase perks, however, I'm just going to get it on there and forget about the CE, which certainly won't be on Steam.

Given that you can't unlock the Elite Skill slot on your hotbar until level 30, I doubt that it will be available to you at level 1. Even then it is still a nice bonus skill to have at level 30 as it shouldn't cost you any skill points to aquire unlike other elite skills.

anet have been awesome to their existing customers and i kind of wish i'd picked up gw1 again and gone through a few of those for the extra shinies. this was definitely creative thinking on their part.
on topic, i've never bought a collector's edition of any game and this hasn't changed my mind. extra bling doesn't matter when a game is awesome already.
Personally, I've always felt CE versions of most MMOs are worthless. But this honestly has to be one of the worst I've seen. Might as well get the standard and use the money saved at the cash shop on specific items you really want. Most people seem like they really only want the elite skill. I think I will get the DDE, extra glory and influence to start off each character could be nice, since I'll probably be playing all the professions, so thats 8 characters in total.
