Just a friendly warning to everyone here about this particularly nasty rogue security program. I'm typing this on my Android tablet this morning because my PC is in the process of removing this program. I woke up this morning and turned on my PC, went and got my coffee and then logged into MMORPG.com to read some posts before going to work like I've done a thousand times before. This morning however I was bombarded with Windows install warnings which I did have the brains to deny but it was to no avail... I got infected anyways. THIS PROGRAM BLEW THROUGH 3 LEVELS OF SECURITY!!! It also made it impossible to run any program including Windows Task Manager, procexp and RegEdit... EVEN IN SAFE MODE!!! I'm not sure if it came from this site but I was browsing this forum when it occured so I thought I'd better warn people here as it probably did come from something on this forum. I've removed it successfully while typing this but it made it extremely difficult. Hopefully you all stay safe from this particularly nasty bit of malware. peace out.

Looked it up:
There are many ways your computer could get infected with Smart Fortress 2012. Smart Fortress 2012 can come bundled with shareware or other downloadable software.
Another method of distributing Smart Fortress 2012 involves tricking you by displaying deceptive pop-up ads that may appear as regular Windows notifications with links which look like buttons reading Yes and No. No matter which "button" that you click on, a download starts, installing Smart Fortress 2012 on your system. Smart Fortress 2012 installs on your computer through a trojan and may infect your system without your knowledge or consent.

Yeah, By the time I got the pop up it was already on my system. I do virus removals and general PC security as part of my job. When I got the pop ups I ALT-F4'd them to get rid of them but by then it was too late. It happened when I was browsing this forum after a clean boot so I'm fairly sure it came from here. I had to type the URL of the MalwareBytes download link directly into the run box in the start menu in safe mode then I disabled sucurity scanning on the freshly downloaded copy to install and run it. I've literally cleaned thousands of Rogue Security programs off of people's PCs over the years but I've never encountered one that was this tenacious. This thing even came up in safe mode which is damn peculiar for a rogue. Anyways I just figured people here should know about it as it's one of the nastiest ones I've personally encountered and I've seen hundreds of different ones over the years.
