No worries fellas, next month everybody who pre-purchases is getting in, just 1 more month to go before we all can play the game!! woot!
That seemed wierd to me though. Why would Anet do that to themselves? Have only 10,000 people in this months beta, when next month they are going to have at LEAST 1 million, because thats how many subscribed for the beta. Going from 10k people to 1M people in 1 month is a tall order and a REAL stress test for their servers.
Would have been easier on themselves to have 2 beta tests this month, 10K for the first one earlier this month, and maybe 100K for the one at the end of the month. Would better prepare them for the 1M flood of pepole who pre-purchase.
Well there is still hope we might get one next weekend.
I guess the invites were based on some kind of registration couple of weeks ago or whatever. And I missed that Oh well, still going to pre-purchase this game and beta the crap out of it
... that have been about nothing but the cash shop lately. It's getting boring.
/signed. Especially since we already went through this in GW1 & on Steam. (almost identical items)
Looking forward to something new
Regarding beta invite; didn't get one and I'm glad I didn't. Sounds like a clap trap for WoW hipsters instead of a GW1 reunion. (I'd much rather play with Guildies)
Funny how so many games now dangle beta invites in exchange for buying the game.....ITs a horrible practice but its the fault of the players
I don't see how its the fault of the players, I want to give my input to the game. Everyone wants to get into the beta and pre-purcharse allows for that to happen.

And it's a horrible practise for players to put $5 down on a pre-order just to get into beta and then revoke their purchase.
At least here it is those who are truly invested in the product at hand and want the best for it would get in. Also we've all seen the state of the game's beta last month and how it wasn't a broken mess.
For right now, the only way to get early beta access is to pre-purchase the game. DIfferent from pre-ordering.
For a pre-order, you can put down any arbitrary amount of money and have it guaranteed for you when it launches, allowing you to back out with only losing a small amount of money if you wish to cancel your order.
With pre-purchase you are buying the game early, without getting it for another 10 months. ArenaNet hasn't said what will happen if you cancel your order, but I doubt you will get 100% refund.
Therefore, those people who pre-purchase won't be cancelling their order just to get into the beta. I believe it allows for people who have the worst of luck getting into these betas to be allowed to beta test and help make the game as good as possible.
Just a reminder If you ARE accepted into the GW2 beta - please abide by the NDA and do not disclose the fact that you are in the beta or any other details regarding the beta. Thanks!
Edited post accordingly. x2
X2 . You cannot violate the NDA before signing it. Receiving an e-mail with a beta invite and reporting on that is not covered by any NDA. (because it would be post contract/agreement enforcement of a pre contract/agreement issue).
Now if the NDA has a section that states you cannot accept it if one has disclosed the invitation to the beta. That would be a different issue; in which you could report the invite, but not sign the NDA without violating it by signing it.
This is the Correct application of NDAs , despite what is often mentioned on forums. I am only typing this out so people know their obligations and allowences.
Maybe developers would like NDA to function differently , if so they could add the section/clause i addressed eariler. Maybe they still contact forum mods, etc. I do not know. But i figure this allows the forum mods to also better understand how NDAs work.
Still, forums held by private individuals/ownership may ban any speach or discussion they wish to, in this case they may create a policy and state: (which helps draw a clear line of expectation, otherwise stated, if one says please follow NDA policy and don't do XYZ , but XYZ is allowed by the NDA policy. That would be an unclear guideline complicating the matter).

Totally going to pre purchase this game so I can be in all the beta weekends and give my input to the game.
Plus, I am dying to just play the game myself...
