I figured you would like them. Since you hate blink 182. Gotta love them white trash metal bands!! I dont know if metallica is white trash or not, but generally metal attracts to white trash.

Remember, I said GENERALLY, so dont try and say I am calling anyone in particular white trash.

Weird Al Yankovich has a song... "angry white boy polka" i think? something to that effect
But anyways he plays tons of rock bands (from few years ago) that songs got popular in a polka tune, its quite entertaining lol

Metallica is a world wide popular band. So it depends on which country they are playing in, which decides what the "general" crowd looks like. When they toured South America, "whites" made up roughly 5% of the total crowds. When they toured Japan, "whites" made up 0% of the audiances. Listen to as much different music as possible so you get a broad exposure. What ever you like, buy it, listen to it. All there is to it. When Ice Cube became the only artist in history to get a #1 albume, on the day it released, with zero radio play, it was because 80% of all his listeners, buyers, audiances, were not the "usual audiance". Same with Metallica's worldwide success.

And the term "white trash" is an oxymoron. It is like saying "my 1,000 bill has dirt on it." Or "my Ferarri Testarossa needs to be washed". The term was coined in America when the "intelligensia", the "acedemics", wanted to find an excuse why "whites" were not born automatically smart. Instead of admitting skin color in no way determines how smart someone is - studying, going to school, getting a nice education, is what does it. The term "white trash" is a cop out, and excuse.

Imagine saying "Yellow trash", "Black trash". "Red trash". image

Last thing, all humans are 99.99% simular. (Example: Many blond, blue-eyed "whites" have the exact same blood type as a black haired, dark brown eyed, Zulu with the "blackest" skin.) It is super strange that many people instead demand to concentrate, and talk about, the 00.01% difference between humans.

Blood type is only 1 thing, how is that 99.99% of the human body being similar? I get the idea of what your getting at behind this but that just isn't correct. Having the same blood type would be more like...being .1% the same don't ya think?

metallica always sucked from birth to death i prefered megadeath much better music for metal. i cant believe no one brought them up lol.

Actually Xplororor is kind of right and so is OmegaLet, the percentage of similarity between humans ranges from 99.8% (brothers, sisters) to 95%(completely no relation at all), therefore blood type similarity depending on how closely some one is related to you ranges from 0.01% to 0.1%

i hope i help clear that up a little.

By the way from something to be different geneticly the percentage of difference doesn't have to be big, take for example chimps and us humans, 98.5% of our genetic material is the same as chimps but that meager 1.5% is what makes us us and them them.

And that concludes todays genetics lesson.

I thought Metallica was decent at best in their early years. I liked that paid their respects to Discharge when they got started. Man, Discharge is/was awesome.

You are really getting on my bad side, pal. Just because someone disses your genre does not mean you have to live up the the reputation of the bands that supposedly like that particular genre.

but there are more influential bands then Nirvana, such as: The Velvet Underground, The Grateful Dead, The Who and The Sex Pistols!

I love The chains. When Stanely went down I personally was shocked. I had no idea about his underground drug habit. Anyways, they are trying to reform. I wonder who will vox since Layne is no longer with us.

Metallica were great but they have lost the edge now, but you still have to give them respect for what did for rock music in the 90's!

And Xplororor i have to kind of disagree with your above statement, no doubt  Black Sabbath, Led Zepplin and to a lesser exstint Metallica paved a path and are partially responsible for the catagories you listed, but they were not the only ones, you are leaving out some great bands that were more influential,

Such as: The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, AC/DC image, The Clash, The Ramones, Pink Floyd and Nivarna

    just to name a few.

    Cheers image

    "Open Up My Egar Eye's"

The Beatles were "pop rock/regular rock" mixed with Jazz/blues. If they did any influence, it was to reinforce to the jazz group Earth that it was possible for local British guys to make it in America. The jazz group Earth was around before the Beatles. It can be said Earth influenced the Beatles, the Beatles influence Earth. But when it comes to the new sound of hard rock, heavy metal, Earth.... which then changed its name to Black Sabbath was the first. Not the Beatles.

The Rolling Stones to my knowledge have never made a hard rock/heavy metal song. They started as a clone of the Beatles. AC/DC were among the 2nd wave of hard rock/heavy metal. Ramones, Clash, are also of this later time period with AC/DC, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, etc.. etc...... roughly mid 1970's-start of 1980's. (Back when Van Halen, Bon Jovi, Def Leppard first started and were also hard rock/heavy metal before turning to pop rock.)

I will give you Pink Floyd. They do go far back. They've always experimented, not trying to copy the latest pop rock craze. And they go back far enough to be one of the original influences of rock, leading to the new hard rock branch.

Nirvana? *ahem* there is nothing new about their sound. Before the term "grunge" was coined, they were called "post modern". Red Hot Chilli Peppers was the first "post modern" band. MTV even used to have a special series called "Post Modern MTV", that came on very late at night, showing bands in this new catagory which later got renamed "grunge". (Grunge: dressing down, grungy. With a grungy attitude. "I'm just a sucker with low self esteem" lyrics from a certain group sums it up. Grunge new pop word for angst, angst, angst. image)  Nirvana did popularize postmodern/grunge far more than Red Hot Chilli Peppers did. Maybe if RHCP had a blond front man instead? Heheh. To quote David Lee Roth from his book "They are always looking for a new blond flaver of the month.".

The pop media is always looking for a new flavor of the month. Nirvana fit it more than RHCP. After the mess with Nirvana, grunge exploded with Pearl Jam, and tons of other grunge groups. All they are is regular rock. With some trips into hard rock territory. None of them are heavy metal bands though. Guns N Roses was perhaps the last supersuccessful, titan, heavy metal band. Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie, are filling the heavy metal void. But haven't matched the success, number of albumes, of G n R, Black Sabbath, Metallica, etc...

So I agree with you on Pink Floyd. But not the rest, they came later, roughly a full 10 years after the ones I mentioned. Nirvana came even later later. image

I mentioned Blood as one example. There are thousands of other examples, for example: (LOL!)

All the cells in "Blacks" and "Whites" work exactly the same way. Liver, kidney, heart, lungs, pancreas. The villi (sp?) cells in the intestines work the same way. Inside each cell is the same mega-city. (In every cell there is litterally a city. Mitochondrea, and tons of other critters going about their buisness.). This is not even looking at the nucleus. Get to the nucleus of each cell, and there is even more stuff inside it. And the same stuff is inside the cells, the nucleus of the cells of "blacks", "whites", and everyone else. Bone marrow works the same way in everyone. Platelets work the same way. White-blood cells work the same way in everyone when fighting diseases, and viruses.

The way the eyes see, send info to the brain, works the same in everyone. The way the ears work, and send info to the brain. The way the tongue works, and sends info to the brain. The way the nose works, and sends info to the brain. It all works the same in everyone. The way the heart muscle works, is the same in everyone. The way the lymph node system works, is the same in everyone. And on and on, with the hundreds, to thousands of the other 99.99% things that are the same in everyone.
