Help me pick a new headset!

Sadly after 3 years of loyal service my old logitech headset has broken down me. Purely my fault flinging it a little too hard.

I went online to replace it but...

I realsed know nothing about current headsets.

Graphics cards, keyboards, mice are all fine but headset I draw a blank.

 

So I would appreciate some helpful recomendations from fellow MMO gamers.

If your using win7, get the 22 dollar microsoft chat/usb.....they are actually pretty nice ......then save up for a really nice pair and get them later...........after exhaustive research and drooling through pages on the internet...Just a suggestion....GL

We used to use Koss at work.  Fairly solid and inexpensive.

edit: I read more of the reviews on this model.  Might want to find something else with a better reliability.

I have the Turtle Beach X12 http://www.amazon.co.uk/Turtle-Beach-X12-Headset-Xbox/dp/B005EQE0YM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1333031656&sr=8-1 and they seem rather good at the moment. Only had them about 3 months now, but so far so good.

I'm going to pick up these: Corsair CA-9011112-WW Vengeance 1500 Dolby 7.1 USB Gaming Headset based on a review on Tomshardware.com: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/surround-sound-headset-benchmark,3125.html

Right now they run $70 at amazon.com, so slightly more than you wanted to pay.

Note that these go through the USB port, which is fine for my laptop, but if you have a $300 sound card in your tower with a physical 5.1 or 7.1 output these may shortchange you.
