I was just reading about the Hall of Monuments...I never played GW1 long enough to get any achievements.
How many of you will be getting cool stuff in GW2 from your GW1 achievements...and have you used the rewards calculator?
Anyone have the full 50 points?
Comments
I've not played GW1 either but reading about the HoM has made me want to go out and get it. Is it possible to get any/many of the acheivements even if i only start now?
I only have around 15 points but I have enough points to get skins for all the thief weapons and the diamond shield incase I decide to go guardian or warrior and the title of traveller.
No way in hell I can get anywhere near 50 by the time GW2 comes out.
You get 3 points just for linking your GW1 account to the GW2 account. It's not much, but it's something. However, as far as I understand it, the rewards are just low level unique skins (that can be carried to high level by reskinning higher level stuff) that primarily appeal to people that have played GW1 for nostalgia purposes. That being said, GW1 is a pretty entertaining game and you could certainly unlock quite a few points if you can dedicate significant time to it. Ideally you will have access to all three campaigns and you need access to Eye of the North.
all of them
Nice! How long did it take to to get all of them?

all items, I could go a lil farther but the only other title after 30 I like is 50.. and that isnt happening lol
also this only took me 2-3 months and though I played a lot I wasn't by far always working on it. I paced myself quite a bit.
6 years Nah I never focused on this and its new feature as a whole. To finish it it took me like 2 months just to get the money for all the armor and weapons.
I wonder if you think it's worth it...gettin the GW1 games to work on this...anyone know how long this will last? I'd like to become more acquainted with the GW world.
it doesnt end, you can get the stuff later
and if they DO stop it they will give plenty of notice.
also I think its worth it because I enjoyed GW1. However.. don't start with Prophecies its probably the hardest one to get into. I prefered Nightfall but many like Factions best because it is shortest.. and the wiki is key.. will help you a ton. press f10 in game to see
Its worth to play the game, but not only because of some rewards. Play it for what it is. Its good game and for the money it cost nowdays its 1000% worthy.
And HoM will come naturaly with play. You will finish the campaign, there are few points, then you will do something else that will give you more points and in the end you will just finish few titles to get to the rewards. win/win
I could add for 26 points when I first checked HoM. Just had to get one additional armourset and dedicate some minipets i obtained over the years. My favourite rewards will be the fellblade and UW black widow spider for nostalgia reasons.
It definately is!
They are selling a package that includes all 3 campaigns + the expansion eye of the north.
A small info: Prophecies starts casual and is more slow paced, Factions is rather hardcore after you left the tutorial island while Nightfall is a mix of both.
With Nightfall you also getting additionaly the heroes system.
The heroes are customizable npcs you can collect and add into your party after you unlocked them in various ways(some you meet in quests, some you have in the beginning already, some you unlock by facing them in a arena in Eye of the north, others you find in instances).
The only thing you can't customize is their main class, you can give them any second class, weapons, equips and so on as also you can control them in the battle fully.
The campaigns all involve your character as being part of them among other things.
You unlock your hall of monuments through Eye of the North in which it is also located.
As about goodies you can unlock:
- titles
- ranger pets
- equips
- other
I unlocked quite a few and will probably jump in to unlock more starting this weekend. ^_^
Have fun!
None unfortanately since I didn't play GW1 to it's full potential. I could always start as it is a good game in itself.
This isn't a signature, you just think it is.
Nothing here because I thought GW1 was a horrible game lacking so many concepts that make a MMO good.....Yes I know GW1 wasnt an MMO but the point still stands. However GW2 I am anxiously waiting with wonderous anticipation because it has pretty much everything I want out of an MMO.
Everything you need to know about Elder Scrolls Online
Playing: GW2
Waiting on: TESO
Next Flop: Planetside 2
Best MMO of all time: Asheron's Call - The first company to recreate AC will be the next greatest MMO.
I really enjoy GW1 and still log in casually for some PvP. Got 30/50 so I get all the rewards except a few titles. I didn't feel like pushing for the rest of the titles as there are bound to be titles at GW2 endgame that most would prefer to display.
This is my HoM:

Your point doesn't really stand at all. It's like saying This pear lacks all the qualities of an apple. It doesn't taste like an apple. It's not as round as an apple. The coloring is wrong. Well it's a pear not an apple, sure they both grow on trees, but that doesn't mean you should compare one to the other. You not liking it is fine, but not liking it because it lacked mmo concepts when it was never advertised as one is just wrong.
Also 50/50 plus gwamm. Took me 6 months or so, not counting the 4 years of play before I started filling up my HoM. I had 26 points when they introduced HoM. saw myself easily getting to 35 and maybe even 40, but in the end proper planning got me to 50.
For those that are still filling or want to fill their HoM up. Plan ahead. I used guildwiki to make a spreadsheet with all the predicted Zaishan quests so I could work my way to things like legendary vanquisher or legendary guardian.
ive had the game for years but never played it till 3 weeks ago
i recomend if anyone is starting to play factions first because of the ease of getting two rare pets (you dont need to be a ranger just have a your 2nd prof be a ranger to get the pets and level them )
here is how to get 8 points in a week
i had 3 points for the four games
i trained a black moa and imperial pheonix to lvl 20 both can be found in factions for another 2 points
got mox for another 1 points
and completed factions 2points
these 8 points can be got in one week very easy
anyone can get these 8 points very easy in a week of playing
