Do you like a game with absolutley no lag? Do you like a game with fun filled quests? Do you like games with tons of people online? Well if you do....then this isn't your game lol.

Pacman actually had a primitive AI:
One ghost was set to take the shortest path to you.
One was set to work with the agressive ghost and try to cut you off.
One was set to hang around the middle and keep you from using the side passage way.
The last one floated aimlessly around the area of the map with the most dots.
This game was launched too early, period. It is a great game, and still has potential to rise to the top of the genre IMO, but it was still launched too early. I don't care what business decision was made that justified the launch of this game, it should not have been launched till Christmas. That would have allowed for much more thourough and needed beta testing and would have allowed the time for them to include anticipated features like creature mounts, vehicles, etc.
This game has too many bugs, too much broken content, not enough content, bugged or broken professions...etc. Notice the "bug" theme? I would not suggest playing now unless you are a pretty hard core star wars fan, or you are like me and just like to get characters established early. The hardware requirements are STEEP. You will still get lots of "lag" in cities, even with 128mb geforce cards and 512mb ram. I avoid cities at all costs because of this.
With that said, I'm hooked on this game.
Right now there is a sub game within SWG I like to call "avoid the bug"
There are only a few "show stopper" type bugs, the rest are basically inconvieniences(sp?) and are avoidable. Understandably, this is not acceptable to most people considering that SWG is the most expensive game in MMORPG history. You'll need to be very understanding of MMORPG's to get alot out of this game at this time IMO.
After I've stated all of this, I am actually a fan of this game. I love it, but I hate where it is right now. Right now it's ok game with the potential to be great. From what I'm seeing it is improving, which keeps me hooked. With all it's pitfalls, there's still alot of good things about this game. It is very complex and deep, the professions and skill trees are deep and crafting/economy is unique. It has been very cool to be here from day one (and before that in beta) to see this game evolve.
It's good, but it's going through it's growing pains right now. Many people don't accept that and I don't blame them. I'm forgiving so I play and I love it. Right now I'm a Master Scout, a Novice Pistoleer, a Novice Creature Handler, a Novice Ranger, a Novice Squad Leader and a Novice Smuggler. I'll only be able to Master one or two of these, but I'm just trying them all out to see what I like right now.

This game is GREAT!!! for the first 2 weeks.
Then it start to be repetitive, and feeling like having a virtual job to pay your virtual rent....NOT FUN.
And for thoses who will answer: It's because you don't know how to make your own fun!!! WELL I CAN MAKE MY OWN FUN FOR FREE. Why would i buy a $50 cardboard box, and shell a $15 monthly fee to have the priviliege of making my own fun!!
Overall i think:
Visuals= GREAT
Crafting system= Very good
Profession system= GREAT
Storyline= VERY VERY POOR
Mission System= Shamefull
Overall Stability= VERY Average (even for a mmorpg)
StarWars Factor= FORGETABLE way too quickly

SOE said nothing about a beta 4 ? I really thought this game was going to be a hit. Something fresh and new, I was so wrong. The bugs in this game just make you want to get in your car and take a drive to SOE's HQ and slap each dev accross the face a few times, or more. This game reminds me of Everquest with guns and quests that don't mean a thing or do anything. At a low lvl you have a choice to camp tuskins or camp something else or run around for hours looking for something to camp. Or do faction missions that are boring. Seriously, I think this game is not even close to becoming a decent mmoprg at all. It's time for something new, not the same ole thing over and over and over.

This is the first time i am asked for my honest opinion, give it, then get called "stupid", "liar" and "bullshiter". Ouch

No, i don't play Everquest. I did but cancelled months ago. In fact i'm not subscribed to any MOGs right now. I had high hopes for SWG, and didn't find what i was looking for. I'm sorry to say it again but it REALLY feel like a giant sandbox for kindergarden Starwars costumes parties. I can understand how StarWars geeks could fall in love with this game. My account is now closed in SWG, but i still feel some lingering resentment for having been had for $50. Call it principle... If they had a money-back garantee, the board would be much nicer to their product.
You see a strong storyline there? WOW dude you DO have a vivid imagination. Kind of reminds me of myself when i was 8. I use to build castles and dungeons out of cardboard boxes. Had so many adventures and fights there!!! It was GREAT fun i tell you!!

I will not call you a fanboi, if anything I probably like Star Wars more than you, but I will say you are wrong.
Fun quests? Now I never tried the bounty hunter missions, but I can't imagine they would be much better than the other generic Missions. Reqular missions = deliver something from A to B or destroy a lair (human or creature). Now in order to get some decent cash out of a kill mission you have to take one that is at least a kilometer away, take two in the same direction and double your profit. Same thing for a deliver mission except you can take a shuttle, but usualy end up having to wait for a shuttle. "But, you shouldn't do it for the money, you should do it for the fun factor," you might say. What fun factor? I have run the forest, swamps and deserts and yes they were amazing at first, but damn that can only hold you interest for so long. So have they fixed the waypoint bugs, ALL of them? Or how about people being generated inside walls?
Story line? Please explain where you found a story line in this game. The only story line ever given to this game, was it is sometime after the first death star blew up. That's it. The theme parks have story lines sure, but is it universal? Do you play the same theme park missions over and over again? No you want a wide spanning story line that everyone is involved in. Did they fix all the theme park bugs or even finish the theme parks?
The crafting system is great I will admit and manages to stay interesting for, oh say a week. Crafting is grind after grind. There is no true joy out of it. Go here collect gas, go here collect mineral, put it all together and come out with a POS that no one will buy because a player driven economy does not work. Or you can make a 50 sided dice that is completely useless. The greatest fun I had with crafting was making fireworks and shooting them off with friends. Or you can set up harvesters to mine for you and cost some 4000 a day each. So you have to go back to doing missions again since no one will buy your goods, but wait, missions suck also as explained before.
You can be an entertainer, freakin WOW! Being an entertainer is getting experience for doing nothing. You set a macro and dance. I never met one dancing entertainer that wasn't AFK. Same for musicians.
You can set macros to perform task for you and gain levels overnight, super freakin WOW!! Honestly now, if it was fun would you have to set macros to do things for you? No, you would do it yourself while awake.
Now lets talk about population. Over 3000 per server. Wow, my server is full, damn it, have to play a different character that I don't want to play. So 3000 devided between what is it, 9 planets now, is 333 players per planet, with obviously more people on popular planets. Have you ever left tatoine or naboo? Every other planet is a ghost town. Probably 3/4 of the players are out exploring, so that leaves 83 people who are in town or them parks or whatever. Probably 1/4 of them are entertainers, so that means they are AFK. Another 1/4 is waiting for a shuttle to go somewhere else and explore or using crafting stations. So that leaves 41 people you can converse with. But wait Pat there is more, around 5 cities per planet, so that leaves a grand total of 8 people per city for you to meet with and converse, freaking WOW! Convers anyway, why the heck would you want to do that with a game that has so much other boring crap you could be doin....? Oh wait, that's right because its boring. Download yahho or aol messanger, they are free.
I have missed a lot of bad things so don't think that is it. Frankly there is too much to remember and type about, plus I have to go back to work. So in conclusion the game is dull, boring, lacks any useful fun content and is not worth the money.
Thank you SOE for rasing the MMORPG price standards, that was real nice of you. And thank you to all the morons that play this game for longer than your free trial month and proving that people will pay more for a nice looking pile of shit.
Don't hate me because it's true. Just keep playing and in a few weeks you will see the light; I hope.

Hey SogarGofin what does that tell you when your the only one defending the game? Here a dollar go buy a clue! Then when you start getting rip apart you run. Wow the way you describe the game exactly what game are you playing? It sure as hell isnt SWG, if it is what are you taking, that must be some good shit, hook me up.
It funny how people always seem to throw out they got better things to do in their real life when in fact they're the one who started the argument it in the first place not to mention plays MMORPGs. Hey dumbass we all have real life the reason we all play MMORPG is cuz most of our real life isnt that interesting cuz if it was we wouldnt be playing MMORPGs, as much as I hate to admit it you know it is true.

You really like this game don't you?
I too, like it and i'm still subscribed to it to this date. I think that once the bugs will be squashed (we did get two (2) four hours server downtime for updates in two (2) days...) it has the most potential of all MMORPG out there.
But they REALLY need to flesh it out with more content, and stories. Or else they'll end-up with you and two or three other subscriber!
Now i kind of feel your way, except that you seem to think the game is perfect as it is now... Critics can only make it better.
I just read this entire topic and I must sit back and laugh...... I am one of those people that came here looking for a honest review of the game with the intentions of buying and playing it. I can honestly say that you can never make everyone happy with a certain type of game. That is why we all own different types of games. To keep our gaming experience fresh and new?
I find it a little stoooopid to blast a guy because he defended something he liked. Would you defend your girlfriend is someone said she was a big fat cow<even if she was>?
Opinions, are just that, opinions and IMHO I am going to get the game and find out for myself. Funny thing is .... The guy you all blasted was way more intelligent in his posts and because I think content can and will be added when the fanbase has a chance to have their opinions heard.
