Armor dosnt mean much to me in the least.  I played WOW for a long time, and always watched the new teaser videos of the armor sets and it was fun grinding for armor in 40  man raids but honestly I really can care less how they look.

To me I dont see much wrong with the way they look, some of the helmets are overly gaudy looking and seem out of place, but lots of hats do that.

I would gather people are sick to death of grinding for gear in wow and are just taking there frustration out on SWTOR.   This is just one armor set of how many over the games lifespan, i wouldnt overreact so much.

Looks like a human can opener.

Ballerinas are always on their toes. Why don't they just get taller ballerinas?

Maybe they are not paying, maybe they did a competition sent out to primary schools for the concept work.

Dallas Dickinson explained that they would travel to game development schools around the US and offer the top ten percent of each graduating class a year long contract to work in Austin. After a year, the very best would then be offered a permanent position.

I had tried to hold out hope that this was an April Fool's joke, but sadly the article was written in March. So bad...no one at BW had the balls to say "dude, wtf. This is Star Wars...this looks like crap! These suits would look bad in WoW"

lolz.  It's just getting uglier and uglier, sillier and sillier.    I though that in six-months, maybe a year, I'd try it again.  See if they finally did something worthwhile.   Plus, there'll be enough server mergers that the majority servers will no longer be ghost towns...

But the more they do...   The worse it gets...     I have to wonder if they're letting Lucas design this stuff while he's dropping acid...  Because it's just silly...

They have a stable of independent contractors.   But they still approve the concepts and models.  So it's still all on EAWare.

I've never played TOR, But I know they intended to clone WoW.

Does this mean endgame characters have Shoulders that look more like nuclear fusion reactors with irradiated floating plates orbiting around then they actually look like armor?

Wrong. My kid's primary school teaches up to age eleven. It depends where you live.

On the subject of ToR, I no longer play but nothing I read is pulling me back, in fact the opposite. I'm glad I got out when I did.

If TOR would have pushed the envelope in any way, shape or form, it would have been awesome.  Instead, you have this stuff: WoW leftovers in a Sci-Fi setting.  What a joke.  Whether it's in the game or not, from what I have played, I wouldn't doubt if it adds up to be this bad.  The Game isn't revolutionary in any aspect, and obviously lacks imagination, something that Sci-fi feeds off of more than even Fantasy does-  Sci-fi, in many aspects can come true.

Where are all the fans who were yellin at me to shut up on youtube the six months prior to release?  I said it sucked, and now they are whining because it does, indeed, suck.  Wow.  The game is so un-sci-fi, so not Star Wars, it should be scrapped, and George Lucas should bring down the wrath of Vader on this abomination.

Anything new here? Hmmm... Nope. o/

I actually wrote about the silly armor in one of my columns.

Thankfully, I apparently wasn't alone in my feelings! In fact, TOR Lead Designer Daniel Erickson addressed this issue in last week's Community Q&A:

Players have expressed some dissatisfaction with endgame armor sets – can you comment on your plans for future endgame appearances?

Daniel Erickson: We have heard the community loud and clear when it comes to armor sets. What we’ve heard the players say is, “I don’t care how high level I get, I still want my core sets to look and feel like Star Wars and like my class - cooler but not crazy. Keep the crazy to optional gear.” I will warn that creating new armor is a part of our game with long lead times so it will take a set or so before players see a strong shift in direction but we’re already working on some stuff I love and I think players will too.

I'm pretty satisfied  with this response. Sure, it'll take a little bit to see the fruit of BioWare's response to this feedback, but I'm glad to hear they were receptive to it and actually plan on moving on it!
