I am soooo not a GW2 fan, but I am excited for you guys/gals. I hope you all have zero purchase issues while buying your copy.

I agree, thank you! The main reason I think I'm excited with so little reservation is because I've never put such high hopes into an MMO in the past - or even a single player game in like, 10 years or more for that matter - so unlike some people who are justifiably disgruntled, this is the first real "chance" I'm taking. If it doesn't pan out, at least I don't have a laundry list of disappointments behind me.
Unless you count Cata. That kind of blew chunks.
I to have not put so much high educated hype into a game as I have with GW2. I've spent the last 8 weeks studying, reviewing and analysing videos and write ups on this game. I have earned the right to be as excited as I am over this game, correction Arena Net has earned my excitement.

Really? A thread about the launch of a Pre Order for a game? This is beyond rediculous. I see people saying they will stay up just to pre order when it ticks over. For what exactly? Just go to sleep, and order tomorrow - NOTHING WILL CHANGE. I know, it blew my mind too.

nobody here is talking about pre order. and yes mile stones within a game we are highly anticipating is acceptable.
PRE PURCHASE get it right.
When you go on a road trip you look for mile markers or other things to let you know and indicate you are on the right track and closer to the end of your awaited journy. Don't rain piss on our parade.

Midnight Pacific Time is when pre-purchase starts. 3AM Eastern. They have a countdown timer and popcorn. I'm assuming they will also have a pre-purchase counter, like the beta sign up counter, so they can see the pre-purchaes roll in. I wonder if it will also have a cash counter that makes "ka-ching" sounds for every thousand sold?

because after waiting for 5 years + this is a major mile marker in our long awaited game. Its exciting to be part of this historical event (wink wink)

not at all.. This will indeed be something that goes down in gaming history and here is why.
5+ years in development. Tweeking nearly all our traditions in MMO as well as no monthly fee.
its not just one thing about GW2 that is making its mark in the gaming time line of history its the total package.
If it is successfull it will go down in Gaming history as such and if it fails it will, mock my words, be the largest gaming covered failure in history. Either way it will be a gaming historical event.
