They offer lifetime subscription for 200$, this looks nice actually plus all the goodies in the pack, the game does not fit my style to much but i will check more about it right now, maybe i miss something.

i really want the lifetime sub but has far has gameplay and other stuff..funcom seem to be keeping peeps in the dark a bit,by that i mean there does'nt seem to be much publicity about the game or enough knowledge..£160 is a lot of money to get burned if its not ready for release, but saying that you would hope they have learned there lesson from AOC.

do you think a 2.4 ghz core 2 duo would run the game?

  • dontadowdontadow Member UncommonPosts: 1,005

Arenanet is the reason I can't hit the buy button. I just havn't seen much of Secret World.  Funcome needs to release more game play videos for me to make a conscious decision.  Arenanet makes it pretty easy to buy a game before it comes out. Tons of videos, unbiased user reviews.  With Secret World, the E3 video looks aesome but i think that's all we got.

I would never pay to beta test a game. If anything they should be paying the testers, not the other way around.

If all the beta testers are infact paying customers do you really think they're gonna bother with bug/exploit reporting? Hell no.

End result is a useless beta phase and most likely a broken game at release.

    No thanks.

I thought it was $250 for lifetime, its $50 for the game + $199 Grandmaster package upgrade

I'm surprise how expensive this game will be?

I understand there is a cash shop with a subscription. But limiting charcater slot for accounts? woah (ok you have 3 slots, one for each faction, and you don't have classes so you probably will only roll 3, but still.....)

Sigh I wonder what is going to be in the cash shop.

How much WoW could a WoWhater hate, if a WoWhater could hate WoW?
As much WoW as a WoWhater would, if a WoWhater could hate WoW.

It will depend on the rest of your system but going by the CPU i doubt it's that great. TSW uses the same engine as AoC so yuo'll probably struggle.

Log in your Funcom account at:

    https://register.funcom.com/

There you can select Add game to your account and TSW pre-order has been added to the list.

Edit: Seems you are forced to pay for 2 more months of subscription directly this way when using your Funcom account:

    Payment Total

    • The Secret World Pre-order - 49.99 EUR

    • 60 Days Subscription - 25.98 EUR

The total payment due for this offer is 75.97 EUR

But you can always use the OP link then tie that TSW account to your global Funcom account after I guess... Got to check that though.

Edit2: Keep checking the official forum. Topics about existing accounts and such have been created already:

    http://forums.thesecretworld.com/forumdisplay.php?f=15

Last edit: the 2 months is just a bug in the subscription page apparently, you should only pay 49.99€ after. They are fixing this now.

    Seee you in game ;)

£39.99 gah why are pre-orders getting so expensive... at least its better than the stupid prices of GW2..

Think ill have to wait on this one to see what its like first, hopefully get a beta invite and will help make up my mind.

I am really interested in this, but the push back, making it close to GW2 really sucks, I was hoping to play this for a while...Then get GW2 and maybe play both, but I am not a big multi-game player...  Not as much free time as I use to have to do that.  I may get it anyway, but I need to see more stuff to get a feel on what it will be like.

Thanks for posting though, a guy at my work is really looking forward to this, so I can go tell him.

Seriously? I don't follow this game so I don't know if it's true, but if it is, than this alone should be enough information for anybody  to stay away from it. Even if it's free to play.

These pre-order beta's are very common nowdays and are meant as a marketing technique, not to actually test the game like a real beta.

I do agree they are a bit stupid but saying the game will be buggy because of them is a bit ignorant IMO as some of the most polished MMO's at lauch (DCUO, RIFT, and by the looks of it Tera) have used the pre-order beta's or something along the lines of them.

Bascially now days beta's are just advertisement for the most part, the real testing happens behind closed doors.

I might give this one a chance, even though I´m still alittle burned by my AoC experience. But I like the skill system alot, and the 3 factions as well. If the PVP is good then I will play it for sure.

I think it's safe to assume GW2 ain't coming out before July 19th so you can easily fit in the headstart and first month of TSW before GW2 goes live. Also GW2 is B2P so there's no real obstruction to not give TSW a fair chance.

Personally I'm not hyped about GW2 anymore since it's more of a "MMORPG" than a MMORPG. Funcom got my money (lifetime) hopefully I'm getting it's value worth of gaming experience 8)

Pre-order gives access to Beta Weekends, not the actual beta test. Sounds like they will have events on the weekends for pre-order folks. Mostly just a marketing ploy, as already mentioned.

FYI, pre-orders through Funcom will get the cat. GameStop pre-orders will provide the wolf.
