1) Look at the development time of AOC and just how much the investors made them rush it AND WHO WAS in charge of advertising and where that guy is now(hint: fired)
2) look at development time of TSW and the entirelly different approach to it?
3) Look at tehe fac that TSW Closed beta has been going on for quite some time already.
4) look at the fact none of head developers of AOC are working on TSW and that its helmed by the guy who pretty much only radiates and produces AWESOME stuff, also known as the guy who reinvented and saved Anarchy Online.
5) Look at the fact that it will be openly playable at PAX so you will have dozens of days to form an opinion before buying.
6.) Diablo III....uhhhhhh, not touching that thing. Ever. Diablo franchise is dead.

When I talk about open world PvP, I talk about PvP that is not restricted to a specific zone or in battlegrounds. AoC definitely has open world PvP in their PvP servers. LOTRO on the other hand is a game that allows PvP only in a specific zone and so is GW2.
I think you're confusing open world with seamless. Neither TSW, AoC nor GW2 are seamless and you're right about that.
I think your going to be utterly disappointed, this seamless world you keep searching for is a myth, maybe in another 20 years, but not now.

I don't know all the details about launch issues for games - but what i do know is that games developers have learnt heaps about launch marketing over the past few years.
Some of you guys are a gold mine. Forget the "Nigerian Banker" scam... sell pre-orders for an MMO.
Heh. I get that some of you people visiting here are low on cash and that preordering a game of 50-60 dollars is a Big Deal, but to me it's pocket change. I often spent more on a night's out.
But hey, I get it when people are cautious. Sure, if that amount of money is a lot and you're one of those people who don't know what they like in MMORPG's or can't predict whether they'll be able to enjoy themselves in an upcoming MMO, then it's good to be hesitant. Me, I'm certain that I get my money's worth in entertainment out of the game, just as I got from other MMO's I bought and played, including AoC.
Whether it still will be so in the long term only time can tell, and this would only be an added plus, not a requirement for getting my share of entertainment out of my purchase.
My advice applies even if TSW was free to play. Be it your money or your time, or both - this company has a proven track record of buggy launches - AO and AoC. I hope this game has a smooth launch, as the MMO genre needs something refreshing.
Anyway, can someone post a link to an article where FunCom acknowledges is past launch sloppiness and describes what steps it will take to make TSW a smooth launch?

This is definitely a buy for me, I would say your not a true mmo player if you dont at least give TSW a shot but after the AOC debacle Im not sure that statement hold true.
I think TSW worth a try.
To be honest I was hoping for nill instancing in this game but that obvisouly isnt happening, even so its a AAA mmo and I would never call my self a MMO fan again if I didnt buy this game.

Im looking forward to the theme, setting, story and adventure the most also the errieness of the game looks nice. Although Im strickly a Horror movie watcher and fan, this game caters more to me which also adds to me 100% giving this game a go.
It depends what you are looking for. I think the 3 factions play differently in terms of story. Tmeplars are sort of modern knights so pass for me on that BS. Dragon are the Brue Lee faction so pass again. Illuminati though I could get into as a faction.
From what Iv read, ppl seem to think the pvp isnt going to be much, the pvp I seen looked very interesting though and I was thrilled they had something that looked so appealing in the previews.
Hard to tell. But thre are three factions per server so it will be different.
I think this game is going to be heavilly instanced though just in case anyone is wondering about that.
It's Funcom, they love instanced games.
This game excites me the most this year, Im always looking to read something new about this but there never is much besides those silly shity email newsletters I hate.

Just the fact they offer "lifetime subscription" is worrysome...but then I saw so many things that can not be unseen.
This makes me sad, the regular game doesn't even seem to come with 30 days free.

You dont need to worry, after seeing a lifestime subscription option you can pretty much know, with absolute certainty that funcom has no confidence in the longevity of their title.
There isnt one successful lifetime sub MMO out there, everyone of them, EVERYONE has failed within the year. That is just fact.
LotRO had a lifetime subscription and went for 2.5-3 years before going FTP (and it still offers alot for those who have the lifetime sub). You "made" your money back on the game if you played longer than 13 months. Now Funcom still is running Anarchy Online after 11 years and so the chances are good that this game will stick around making the investment worthwhile.
Not gonna jump any bandwagons with this MMO. Too many MMOs too few that actually deserve any attention. I doubt that Secret World is a UNIQUE and will be released polished. I think I'll just sit and patiently wait for GW2. I am not sure I like that so many genres are mixed in this game. I think its going to be some major grind. All the games with Cash Shops limit players in some way to promote Cash Shop sales. Otherwsie there would be no point in cash shop. Gonna wait for reviews, etc.

Well, there are levels. They only don't call them levels. You gain skill / stat points by grinding and then you can spend them on skills/stats that are required to not-die (CC skills and passives) and to use better gear.
For me it appears that they wanted to achieve too much. If we add EA to the equation it reminds me of Hellgate London - a game which might be really good, but the lifetime subscription turned out to last for very short time.
If you can, play some beta before buying. And if you think they can polish the game before release so they get initial attention and reviews good enough to let the game survive, then perhaps such life-time subscription may be good.

Skill based char evolution is harder than lvl based,anyhow youre not totaly wrong,SB chars tends to keeps you more busy for longer time.

I have read up on this game and seen the vids hoping to get a pre-view. But this game looks realy nice and the setting is perfect. No classes or levels to worry about and you can own all the skills and abilities in the game. Not bad realy.
So why the need for more character slots its not as if your going to reach max level and decide to roll a cleric when one character can do it.

Well, there are levels. They only don't call them levels. You gain skill / stat points by grinding and then you can spend them on skills/stats that are required to not-die (CC skills and passives) and to use better gear.
For me it appears that they wanted to achieve too much. If we add EA to the equation it reminds me of Hellgate London - a game which might be really good, but the lifetime subscription turned out to last for very short time.
If you can, play some beta before buying. And if you think they can polish the game before release so they get initial attention and reviews good enough to let the game survive, then perhaps such life-time subscription may be good.
