So i'm giving the beta weekend a go
Hello, so I have off this weekend and was really excited to give this game a go for this weekend. The only thing is I am having a hard time getting "into" it... So far I am only a level 5 berserker, which could be a bit to quick to dismass/praise this game yet and I understand and that is why I will continue to play it tonight.
I have a few problems with the game so far and mostly it's just graphical stuff. One of my problems is the amount of visual tearing in this game, I use a 60hz monitor and with the lack of vsync option (couldn't find it at least) in this game the tearing is astronomically annoying. Another thing is the UI, okay the design is okay, I'm not a big fan but the resolution on it is so screwed, It's so obnoxiously big at default and then when you scale it down it become's hard to read and not very clear (i find it isn't really clear at any scale). Also the graphic's are a bit strange to me, it feels like it should look better as if my resolution is off or it needs some anti aliasing, also i think they're is a bit of a stylistic choice here with having kind of a blurred out painterly feel on some of the enviroments rather than sharpness, which could be something I'm just not used to. Lastly with the graphics and again this is probably due to the whole beta process but it seems they're are some terrain issues in the background where they kind of "blink" black, like a shading/shadowing problem.
Now, It probably sounds very nit-picky to you all, and i guess it kind of is! But why I came here to write this was to see if anyone else agrees or knows any tips, because honestly my eyes hurt really bad after playing this till level 5. This never happens in any other game, it's just the issues in this that I am having are giving me a headache =/. And all these problems, or things I don't like are making the game feel rather "clunky" and it kind of reminds me of the free to play game dragon's nest(more than just because of the action combat, but the quality and ui, etc).
Instead of pointing out only negatives I'll point out some positives, so know one thinks I'm just hating. The gameplay is very smooth, like butter, animations are some of the best I have felt in an MMO in a while (always felt and still do that wow has the best animations hands down, this is because they aren't over the top, or awkward). The backdrops in the area make the place look so epic and nice, and the colors are very vibrant. The action combat is pretty fun so far, but I am getting bored of just attacking and blocking, need to pick up some new skills!
But yeah, this game looks like it has some potential and I want to play some more of it tonight+this weekend, wondering if anyone has any tips to fixing these problems or anything.
Also my computer can handle it, incase your wondering, I can tell that will be the first question and rightfully so.

I personally have all setting in game on max, lighting enrichment set to 1 instead of 2 though, then on my 560ti I force everything and I set up some other stuff and It looks miles better than normal max settings.
Just tweak with it until you find out how you like it.
As for options and other problems I am sure some will be ironed out as the BETA is two patches behind current KTERA, almost a year of updates behind actually. So, on OBT ill formulate a better opinion.
hopefully, this game seems like it will be fun. However i would totally hate it, if it didn't have this different combat system!
The combat system by far is amazing... hopefully its enough to bide time while they work on other components of the game. In terms of graphics it functions fine for me but its likely some issues might happen with some graphics cards maybe not being able to handle it.
