$150? I'm sorry, this instantly makes me think of swtor and how Bio(*Throws up in mouth*) managed to sucker people into buying an expensive CE for what turned out to be a terrible, terrible single player online game.
They are unrelated of course, but the price makes me wonder if their game is just crap and their trying to squeeze the consumer again.. These companies have literally doubled their CE costs, beginning with swtor.
This is the second online game that I have noticed that wants to charge $150 for the CE... it's just insanity...
Anyway... Moving on...

The company and their supporters will try to convince you it's due to the statue. As if a molded piece of plastic should justify that kind of price. I could see it raising the base cost by 20 bucks retail, any more than that is just ridiculous.
You obviously have no idea how much those models sell for.
Here are some models of ships from EVE Online, these are quite cheap as far as models go.

Kind of what I was thinking. Would 150 bucks be kind of expensive for the model alone? Just the model? Sort off. Ive seen worse.
But its not just the model. Its the game, and a ton of extras, in game and tangible. And the model.....that priced 150 bucks by itself would be MAYBE expensive and people would buy it anyways. The model I mean. By itself. For 150 bucks.
So is the collectors edition overpriced? Not...........really.
Yeah it's not overpriced at all.
It's just expensive, that's all.
Well, back in '05 when good ol' Guild Wars was released, its CE sold for $69.99 while the game was only 49.99.
Now fast forward ahead several years when games cost $59.99 upon release, add in some swag including what could end up as a much wanted statue in a year or so and you come to $149.99. On the plus side, you get a statue and not just a emote that makes your hands glow. Not complaining, just pointing it out. Expensive, yes, overpriced? That will depend on how the game does.
I'm sorry but the only one saying anything about the second coming is you. Fans of a game accept its flaws and strengths.

Giant statues are par for the course for games now, at least there isnt some bogus VIP store in GW2 CE.
I actually hope they add a CE divine aura as a throwback to GW1.
i'm a well known penny pincher, make em scream for their mamma's every time i shop but i have to say, this isn't a problem. It's a collectors edition, something completely optional. This combined with the fact that this game is not a subscription based game makes this a moot point. Doesn't matter at all really.
Yeah but typically all you got was one or two things, mostly in game stuff.
Difference these days is that these things now come in a fancy package/box and have all sorts of additional stuff. Maps, Books, Soundtracks, Models, Bobbleheads... etc etc
It's a lot more expensive but I would challenge anyone to buy those things individually at anywhere near the combined price and see how bad it is.
[Edit]
Not sure why i took your post the wrong way but hey, sorry
was going to edit it right away but my game in LoL started :<
Like they say in their description of the collectors edition.
"Are you a true Guild Wars 2 fan? Then you deserve the Guild Wars 2 Collector's Edition"
So now, its your choice. Are you or are you not?
The world awaits....
Normal price of CE are $150 now for most games.
Not surprising and not sure what the issue is.
If you don't want to pay for it, don't.
I don't have a Porche but I certainly do not badmouth them just because I can't afford one. :P

Informing people about your thoughts and impressions is not a review, it's a blog.
It's crazy, and it's too much, but it is the norm now. Like anyone else, they want money. That they won't have a sub fee doesn't mean they want to take a financial hit when they can charge what everyone else is. I know it's crass, but that's how it is. It really has no bearing on the quality of the game.
And regardless, for all that's in it, it isn't terribly overpriced. If you bought all those things separately, it'd be a damn sight more than $150.
"There are two great powers, and they've been fighting since time began. Every advance in human life, every scrap of knowledge and wisdom and decency we have has been torn by one side from the teeth of the other. Every little increase in human freedom has been fought over ferociously between those who want us to know more and be wiser and stronger, and those who want us to obey and be humble and submit."
John Parry, to his son Will; "The Subtle Knife," by Phillip Pullman
Somebody tell me the price of Diablo 3 CE. Then we'll start a real discussion about price.
Play for fun. Play to win. Play for perfection. Play with friends. Play in another world. Why do you play?
It's $150 because people are willing to pay $150 for the collectors edition of a game these day. If people didn't pay that price then game companies would quickly bring the price back down again but people do so that's what it sits at.
