Firefall FXAA Mod and LOD Tweak - Image Quality Improvement - Work in Progress

Ok guys and gals this is a little something I have been working on for the past 2 days. This is a few tools and tricks which will increase the games visual quality. Using both the SMAA injector http://forums.electronicarts.co.uk/battlefield-3-pc/1462822-smaa-injector.html and the FXAA injector http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=131 (known from skyrim) as well as a tool called Radeonpro http://www.radeonpro.info/en-US/ to edit LODs(nvidia has a tool that can do this as well). The end result is a game with modded bloom,lighting,effects, colors, and aa. The point of this video is to show its games beauty and makes us all want Two 7970s or two 680s, ooo the lag ^_^

 

*******Let me state this now, THIS IS NOT supported by red 5 studios or the firefall team. Using the tools I used "could" cause problems with the game and even resort in a account ban. 

 

These tools have been used in games like skyrim and battlefield 3 and other multiplayer games, even wow, without any issue. But I still want to make this VERY clear. If the game crashes, if you get banned, you where warned! These tweaks should not cause any issue and as long as Punkbuster and most other anti cheat providers continue supporting these injectors you should not have to worry about a ban. I have used the FXAA injector with Star Wars The Old Republic mmo as well as BF3 to date without any issues. But once again, you have been WARNED!*******

 

 

At the moment the game is NOT responding well to these tweaks. I am working on finding the perfect spot where you will take very little performance hit (10fps at most) but will hopefully gain massive image quality. Once I get a good profile figured out I will post it. Untill then you can enjoy the 'preview' of it. 

 

Its the SMAA and FXAA injectors causing the larger problems. The LOD trick causes ZERO problems and judging history has really never been incompatable with any game. Using Radeonpro or the nvidia counterpart edit the games LOD to anywhere from 0 to -3.0. Going into the positives will reduced image quality, so dont!

 

Default no mods: Time = Dusk

 

With mods: Time = Dusk

 

For the video and screenshot I had the effects/changes set to almost max for waht they could do. If something seems to much remember you can edit this to make it just the way to want.I would not suggest playing with all the injectors and lod tweaks going full blast as like me in the video you will lag and eventualy crash.

 

I found playing with a few color tweaks, forced AA and negitive LOD resulted in much more better looking game and unlike in my video was not resulting in any lag.
