Is there any game out where your character literally progresses through age while it progresses through whatever level system is used (levels, skills etc)
So you basically start with a little young man around the age of 10 for the lowest levels and you progress through ages till you hit the age of 35 or so.
You'll look bigger, stronger, mature and more convincing.
I've been thinking about this for a while and it sounds like a nice feature, also a good way to tell what level someone is.

No.
I'm already old enough as it is.

"Remember, remember - Kakk says 'December.'"
Honestly, no. It isn't a good idea. Here are my somewhat serious reasons why:
Players want to make a character look a certain way, and not have it change on them.
Players make female characters. 10 is too young, 35 is too old. Remember, most players are guys.
Aging is something that people have ignored in books, movies, TV shows, comics, and games. If the simpsons don't need to age, neither does my GW2 character.
Why try and do what game designers already do with bigger, badder, gnarlier armor sets? Where is the fun in changing that?
It isn't as if I actually LOOK at my character most of the time. I usually wear armor and a helmet.
I used to TL;DR, but then I took a bullet point to the footnote.
Mabinogi I believe. Great sandbox-ish game.
Well there is one that is simular to what you want that I know of it's called Mabinogi, but it's not the best in graphics so depends on if you care about graphics. You make a character and can choose the age I think 10 being the lowest you can go I forgot how low but def can make it 13 then every week you have a b-day which gets you older and stronger.
Heck no. Aging in RL is bad enough.

I don't think I've ever seen it in an MMORPG. I'm not sure what I think. In a sandbox it would make more sense because the way we play a character could adapt with their age.
To what end could this be taken? Hit 85, have a coronary in the middle of the town and be perma-dead.... might be interesting, would probably upset more than a few players.
I think the only place I have seen this is Fable, which is not a MMORPG.
It would be rather humorous raiding with a bunch of geriatrics. I think my feelings would get hurt if I got beaten in pvp by a geared out toon pushing a walker.
Game? Yes, many. Wizardry being one of the oldest.
MMO? The only one I am familiar with is Mabinogi.
There isn't a "right" or "wrong" way to play, if you want to use a screwdriver to put nails into wood, have at it, simply don't complain when the guy next to you with the hammer is doing it much better and easier. - Allein

People really know all games here! Thanks, should check out how they worked that out.
I like the Elf intro in LOTRO, starting off as a youth then once complete it skips forward centuries and you still look the same. Elves.
Well how much does aging change in your opinion? You'll get a bit bigger, more muscles, more mature. It's not like you'll turn into a chicken at the end of your journey :-)
Let's say you could even have an option to choose what the age range will be. So that sorcerer type of characters can grow really old.
Aging doesn't belong in tv shows because it doesn't fit for a reason, Simpsons wouldn't last 5 seasons if Bart would age :-).
Aging = getting a few levels. Your body changes a little bit as you gain stamina, power or wisdom. Just like in SWTOR where your face changes a little bit as you turn over to the dark side.
The aging would only define your leveling process. Once you're top level, you're at your physical peak and you can from there on develop further in armor sets etc. And obviously you should be able to choose how you look along the way as well. But I guess you could have aging define more than just leveling, just not sure if that's what people want. Don't think that people would work to finally turn 35
I find it ridicilous to see fierce warriors barely be able to kill rats at lvl 1 :-)
Also your voice can change as well as you level, so you will not only notice your body but also your voice.
fable had some kind of age system but it was stupid because you end up old and ugly.
This isn't a signature, you just think it is.
