Who has or hasn't?

in Guild Wars 2

Just wondering who has or hasn't gotten their email with the D/L link to the client.

I got my email at 8am CST April 10th, but have yet to get the link.

Congratulations on successfully completing the registration process for Guild Wars 2! 



The game client will be available shortly; we will send you an e-mail with a download link. 

If you have gotten yours (hooray) how long after purchase did you get it?  Typically I try not to worry about these things, as I am sure they are swamped...but yet I worry I will be one who will somehow go through a giant hassle.

 

If you haven't gotten yours, how long since you got your email telling you the link would be there shortly?

    Noone has gotten a download link, the client is not yet available for download.

    Keep an eye on the GW2 twitter, they answer that same question every 10 minutes.

    Don't follow Twitter, heh maybe I should. But have seen a few people saying they have gotten their link to the client.

    I don't think the send out the link to the client already.

    I would expect it a week or so before the event, but not much earlier. And especially not right now because of all the stuff going on, people registering left and right and the trouble with the retailers, that's enough to handle for both the team and the servers.

    And even if you do not recieve the link, surely you know a friend or two who also pre-purchased, who could provide it?

    They won't put a download link up for the client until the prepurchase traffic dies down.

    Not neccessarily a lie. There are some unofficial links floating around. May be true, may be a great way to catch a virus. Most likely, it's a link to the client of the last press beta, which won't work for the next event, so people are just wasting their bandwith.

    Can't do anything with it anyway, so might as well wait for the official notice.

    There is no hurry to get or install the client. You can't play until the next beta weekend.

    DO NOT DOWNLOAD THE GAME FROM AN UNOFFICIAL LINK.

    If your link to download the client doesn't come directly from arenanet then you're just asking for trouble.

    Thanks for the answers, thats why I posted.  If unsure of something the best thing to do is ask right?

    and no I don't know anyone who prepurchased, I am what most of my friends call the tester.  They don't buy or play anything until I spend my money and give my opinion.  Good for them, bad for my wallet.

    Unfortunately just a rumor. Recent comments on twitter lean towards 27th. Not confirmed either though.

    I just hope it's before I move, maybe I can stall on finding an apartment.  You move and it takes forever to get someone out to hook up internet.  RUSH ORDER I got a game to play.  =)

    End of April is the only 'confirmed date' we have so far.

    I have a pretty good indication that the client will be sent to your email a couple of days before the BWE kicks off so there is no reason to panic. You don't have to watch your email every day, just after wed-thurs.. before the BWE. I'll just leave it at that.

    Actually, nvm. Posted a link to the client, but might aswell remove it again just in case it's an hoax or whatever (would be a pretty elaborate hoax that patches and got a kickass login screen and stuff). Really wouldn't want that on my concience (hmm that the correct spelling? ^^)

    I'm not sure what you're playing, but I'm pretty sure it isn't GW2...

    "Loading screens" are not "instances".
    Your personal efforts to troll any game will not, in fact, impact the success or failure of said game.

    Basically, nobody has gotten a link yet. They said (on twitter) that they'll provide the link with plenty of time to download before the first beta weekend. What some people are downloading is the client of the previous beta that someone leaked out from the beta forums before they closed down on the last beta weekend, but the anet guys said on twitter that even if you were part of a previous beta, you'll have to download the full client again, so downloading now would be useless.

    What can men do against such reckless hate?

    I told you all this was a trap and you all bought an unfinished game for a ridiculous price, either that or some people just dont have any patience at all.

    This is ridiculous. Its not a trap if someone wants to pay the money knowing it is BETA and by definition BETA is unfinished. If someone decides they want to pay the money to see something unfinished just to get a taste of something they feel they will love, whats wrong with that? No one has to do anything.
