Nor I.  While it sucks when this stuff happens - it can't be all THAT widespread - there's no buzzing in guild, nor is there any on the station (Shadowlands and Hyperspace Cannon)

I do not recall SOE doing anything like this to SWG. Some servers were down a long time, and was beyond their control, but they never screwed the game up under a mistake so a mass portion of players could not log in.

I've witnessed a lot of server crashes which most lasted around an hour but a few that took the game down for better part of a day. However, never have I seen a patch keep anyone from playing, something can be said about testing the stuff before putting it live which I bet not properly testing is the case with with TOR.

One whole day, jeez it's not the end of the world.

I was affected too, luckily for me I have 3 copies of the game files, one on my SSD & two on my main HDD, 1 with PTS files the other as a backup of the SSD, so once the mistake was rectified I just wiped my SSD copy & copied over from my HDD.

    Planning > cock ups.

Yeah I'm surprised he went there to. If this had been SOE, the broken content would have went in without warning.

    Currently Playing: World of Warcraft

The NGE was intentional and instructed to do so by LA, this "botch" was not. That is the difference

SWTOR is closer to what the NGE was than pre-CU

As far as patches go , I can think of a lot of games that have had far worse events. This is a non-starter. In fact if anything as big patches go this has been fairly smooth. Perfect no , I'm sure there'll be some unforseen consequences and corrections brought down , but meh it's new content and well we'll see what happens. Gotta say, the drama is interesting .

It's not so much missing a 'whole day' or two..or three. It's just another screw up at the end of a long line of mistakes for this game. Yes, they all have them. This however was the 'big fix' for a lot of the past errors and they botched it again.

Truly a sad development for such a wonderful IP.

*shrug* I was done with the game a few weeks ago but I am sorry to see things like this happen. All it can do it hurt them more.

Hahaha...morons. This kind of stuff shouldn't happen in a AAA MMO and was one of the reasons I cancelled my sub after the 1st month: Bad game engine...bad game design...BAD GAME.

Currently playing SWTOR and it's MUCH better than it was at launch.
