Yeah I can understand the cap for OB, but is the cap for the head start really necessary? A head start is supposed to give you the entire game a few days earlier as a reward. I guess it's no big deal to me really since I probably won't get to 38 before launch anyhow. Just seems unneeded IMO.

I feel the cap should be 50, honestly, this is CBT5 all over again, makes me sad, but I guess I could level an alt while waiting.
I'm glad they are limiting leveling in OB and Head Start... that way I can still keep up appearances of having an actual life around the time of a game release

No character wipe after Open Beta is a good idea because people on the fence about getting Tera will be able to try it out and not have their progress deleted. It always sucks to put a lot of time into an MMO and then have it all wiped away.
A level cap is a good idea because people wont be able to power level their way to max level before the game actually releases. This would be especially bad on PvP servers. Having level 60s at the north bridge in Lumbertown would be bad.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought only pre-orders kept their progress from open beta to release.
I agree though the level cap is nice, but in Tera if your only level 11 it doesn't matter if it's a level 30 or a level 60 camping the lumbertown bridge, you will get 1 shotted haha.
No, all OB characters for NA will be kept for a set amount of time, so all those thinking about pre-ordering or who are on the fence to wait until slightly after release to buy it don't lose their characters they already progressed.
The thought of a character sitting dormant waiting for you is a looming one that may just be that little push that gets you to click the "order" button.
Eh...I would have rather had it so only the head start players would get that novelty of getting leveled up. Kind of feeling like it's a slap on the hands when they made it so they do not wipe. They still have something about head start they are going to release though so hopefully it's some kind of love fest for preorders, lol.

i think is good, cause everyone gets a chance to start from scratch together for headstart.
There is a cap on the OB, it is not very high so it's not a big deal, also OB characters are only staying for NA not EU.
huh? if everyone starts from scratch for OB and there's no wipe, then how can everyone start from scratch for headstart?
good question.
i read somewhere, that at least for the EU, they were doing 2 character wipes. someone correct me if im wrong.
There is no toon wipe, however, there is a level cap of 32 for the OBT and a level cap of 38 for the head start. All confirmed by a GM.
EU - Wipe at the end of CBT5 and wipe at the end of OB = 2 wipes.
NA - Wipe at the end of CBT5 = 1 wipe.
Hope that sorts it out.
Interesting, i knew about the 32, but not the 38...kinda hinders the power levelers, heh

Depends, pre-order OB starts on the 19th, regular OB is on the 20th.
