Why don't you try RuneScape?  That's gear toward people of any age, but it has a filter on it that cannot be removed.  Overall it's fun to play, I played for about a year and just recently quit.  The graphics aren't that good, but it didn't bother me much.  Best thing is you can play for free! I would recommend paying the $5 a month since it's way better gameplay.

R.O.S.E. in my opinion should be pretty good for kids.... It may not be one of the coolest games but it sure isn't 18+ material.

It might be hack&slash but monsters like jellybeans and cute hornets are pretty decent for kids if you ask me...

I'd recommend puzzle pirates, it's alot of fun even for adults on occasion.

I think mmorpgs are not suitable for any kids in any way.

    Thats just my opinion.

And by that you mean because of all the other people?

Come to think of it, if swearing and such is taboo for you as a parent, you really can't allow your kid to even go outside.

Thanks to everyone that replied. He's playing ROSE at the moment, and I have instructed him to come to me if he feels harrassed in any way by another player. Toon Town is a good game for kids and all, but I was hoping to see what other games he could try. I don't see any reason why he shouldn't have a choice between multiple games so that it's not the same old game every time. :)

I'm also looking at a MMORPG called Wiki:

For the guy with 2 little girls...

Did you consider letting them play on the ROLEPLAYING servers in WoW?

I personnaly hate WoW with a passion, however, a roleplaying server usually have a nice community, kind, helpfull and mature.  And kids will be more then happy to roleplay a little, and the average roleplayer should be extremely kind to see them try to roleplay a little and understand they are in fact pretty young.
