If I'm Going To Play TERA EU Is There Any Point Checking The EN Masse Site?

FuryVFuryV Member UncommonPosts: 515

I realise that Frogster are dealing with TERA in the EU and EN Masse are dealing with it in NA.  Whilst I've not played anything by Frogster before, it's clearly obvious when visiting both sites, that EN Masse looks the to be the better company, also based on what people have been saying about them.

Therefore, I often check out the News section of the EN Masse TERA site, as the TERA EU site is rather... crap.

I was just wondering if there was actually any point in keeping up to date with TERA through the EN Masse site, if I'm going to be playing TERA in the EU?  I was under the assumption that because TERA was being dealt with by two different companies, then surely the game will turn out different in some aspects won't it?

Thanks.

I would say there is really no point in following NA's forum site if you are going EU.

Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries...

The game is still patched by korea so your content will be the same its just the service that changes aka GMs, Account Management, Server Structure and Downtimes.

EU is region locked to Frogster, unless of course you speak korean.

Frogster I hope should do a good job.

No it's not. Happily playing NA here.

Back on topic though: If you play EU there's 0 reason to watch EME's site unless you want all the news on day 1 (Frogster does have some delays).

I know there is some "locking going on" only certain countries can access EU.  I think Russia and China cannot. I did think that in the long run EU would be IP blocked from Tera US due to the nature of the way the regions have been divided and provided by vendors. Sorry for misinformation.

''En Masse will block IPs based on region. Asia, Africa, Russia, and the Middle East are included on the block list. While we appreciate that there are players in these regions who would enjoy playing on En Masse servers, it's unfortunate that the vast majority of Internet traffic we see from these regions are from cyber-criminals relating to account theft, gold-farming and other hacking behaviour," En Masse announced.

I presumed Europe was in their too because we have Frogs. Chrome will you play US at launch? For me I will stick with EU for maintenance times and better latency in an action mmo.

I've had ridiculously bad experiences with Frogster in the last 8 years. I can't justify giving them my money when the EME staff is so on the ball all the time.

There's no RP server in EU either, another reason for me to go US, which usually has a more active RP community to begin with.

I've tried both betas - If there is a difference, i can't seem to notice it.

Honestly? I didn't measure it. There was no need to.

I'll try again in OBT, but i don't think you really need a superlow ping to play Tera anyway - The combat is more methodical than frenetic.
