Life is a Maze, so make sure you bring your GPS incase you get lost in it.

Playing the game with a friend and lamenting that I can't take the character to headstart.
I'll probably end up taking one of every class to 10 ish to see what I enjoy the most, then decide from their. PvE takes priority over PvP though.

Well im not on the beta but i hope people to look for bugs and test the mechanics in order to have all the posible problems solved before release, because... ITS A BETA.
Ill be doing the same exact thing everyone else will be doing (although not everyone will admit it) and that is figuring out which class I want to play.
My Guild Wars 2 Vids
Getting as much information on WvWvW tatical combat as I can. Not worried about the PvE until launch.
how many people will not be sleeping for the weekend just so they can get the most out of it?
I know I will probably call in sick if i have to work on Saturday.
Life is a Maze, so make sure you bring your GPS incase you get lost in it.
I typically love to test bugs and errors in Betas but because I paid in full for a game to play on specific weekends - forget testing, I consider this a trial not a beta test. I will be trying out each profession and starting races to get a feel for which I like the best. I will also see if I have time to dabble into the structured pvp and World vs. World.
I know I don't want to explore until the actual gameplay because I will forget locations and lose any achievements from that exploration. I will leave that as part of my suprise for actual headstart.
I'll be doing everything in my power to try and find a way into the Great Collapse in Divinity's Reach. Screenshots when I succeed.
I nominate Unlight for Wall Walker of the Year award:)
Decided to stick to the Human area and specifically give Guardian, Engineer, Warrior and Thief a try. Don't want to spoil the other race stories and really having troubles deciding which melee character to choose. Next beta I'll probably stick to casters and pet classes.
if i get invited and i can actually play (been sick with bronchitis) i will prolly run around trying out the engineer and explore some.
Here's the thing, I don't want to ruin much of the story for myself SO, I'm going to try a few classes that interest me, explore as much as possible and let the 'dynamic event' system speak for itself.
BOYCOTTING EA / ORIGIN going forward.
i've been saying for at least a year now i would be playing a guardian on release as my main ... however ... i've been getting secound thoughts.
So ill be trying out the following proffesions:
- Elementalist
- Guardian
- Engineer
And let the event system amaze me
Here's my list:
Playing a few classes to decide which will be my first and second (I'll probably play two at once and they'll be "co-mains")
Exploring a couple of the major cities
I will be SAVING both Asura and Sylvari and NOT playing them because I don't want to spoil the experience for release ( they will be my "co-main's" races).
Checking out all the vendor prices and the cash shop as well (I'm not opposed to the item shop, had one in EQ2 for years and it never bothered me, even bought a couple of things)
Trying my hand at cooking (crafting).
Practicing dodging and trying to eliminate my bad habit of half keyboarding and half clicking. I usually click on stuff bound to 6 or 7 and up.....very bad habit.
Those are my big plans.
President of The Marvelously Meowhead Fan Club
going to figure out which class to start with, thief or warrior .. and what kind of builds would be possible with them. im also going to be pvping a lot, checking out how big the world feels and how my computer handles the game
This beta event will be my chance to experience the Game with all High Settings and see how lagging it becomes. And getting used to the UI.
I know a few that will be playing exactly what they will be playing on launch, hoping to get that bit of an edge on others. But with the downscaling and non-gear grind mode, I think many will eventually realize that rushing through is not as good as pacing yourself.
Personally I can't decide on which profession to become, Warrior has always been my first choice, then comes Mesmer and now Guardian beta footages. Its becoming more and more difficult to figure out which professions to use. NO wonder they are selling character spots. : )
How many will actually do their best to avoid the stories?
Life is a Maze, so make sure you bring your GPS incase you get lost in it.
I think I will play either an Engineer or Mesmer, since they're two classes which I'm interested in, but not sure if I'd want them to be my main. Hopefully I'll be able to use the Asura and/or Sylvari, since I'm really curious to see how those races are shaping up.
After that, if those both go very well, I'll probably have to play a Thief to make sure it still deserves to be my main at launch.
Exploring is a huge draw for me in the final product, so I'll try not to do it during the betas - but it's also one of my favorite things to do in new games, so that's going to be really tough to ignore.
I'll probably wind up playing a lot of World-versus (V8? Haha) just to avoid PvE spoilers.
...
But first, I have to figure out how I'm ever going to be able to give up a whole weekend to play this game. (You know, without pounding a few nails into my proverbial real-life coffin.)
i'm not gunna play charr because i don't want to spoil the fun formyself.
But there a re a few professions that I want to try because I started wanting to play guardian, but feel like it will be a bit boring, so I wanna try the thief, mesmer and necromancer.
I also want to figure out whether I want to start playing immediatly in the WvW, because being able to play that right after the tutorial is awesome and I intend to play it that way.
you probably should, even if just for a little while to make sure you like them as much as you think you do
Looking for and reporting bugs...
and I imagine having a great deal of fun doing so.
"Loading screens" are not "instances".
Your personal efforts to troll any game will not, in fact, impact the success or failure of said game.
Pffft. Bugs. You act like this is a closed beta or something.
I'll be doing things I don't plan on doing during launch, which will mainly consist of playing an Engineer and a Necro :P
Has there been any news as to what weekend the beta event will be?
Haven't heard any news yet, but its getting closer to the end of April. So its coming up either in 3-4 days or 10-11 days.
I have decided to test my warriors prowness against the beta players, will use a name that i won't ever use, so i can be a noob and no one would be the wiser. ^^
Life is a Maze, so make sure you bring your GPS incase you get lost in it.
Not all class because this would probably take all the week end time just to do that, but 2 or three from my prefered list yes
I will definitly head to WvW and pvp maps as soon as i understand basic controls
Ill play both pvp/pve, but i'll also try to pve in the mist too to see if its a valid path
ye, i always explore a bit anyway
probably not the first week end, i think you need to be like lv30 or something to acess dungeons, so it depend if i reach that or not
play the game and enjoy it, probably more in WvW, but i'll just make a quick tour of the game, run into a main city, explore a bit, go in water, an overall view.
And ye i'll probably take some time to report if i find anything worthy. I'll also read the beta forum to have an idea of the overall state, what are the main complains and stuff, well if we actually get access to the same beta forum as the previous testers, which is not a given at all, some mmo do it others don't, i hope Anet is not much of the *i'm scared to give info access* type of company. I honestly hope they will let us read what was spoken before we got access as real testers should.
