Norway Killer played 16 hours of WoW per day. Also "trained" in Call of Duty MW2.

Interesting read.

The folks who are blaming video games are completely ignorant. I've been playing HARDCORE FPS since the original Unreal. I probably have over 1,000,000 player kill under my belt. I wouldn't harm a hair on anyone's head IRL.

also, he was eating on a regular basis, showering at least once a week and had a mom and a dad.

so, if you take a shower more than once a week, prefer to eat at least once a day and have a mom or dad, seriously, watch out! you are in danger!

LMAO... so now we're all probably going to be registered in some gaming extremist list.

You know when the guy says "self defence" says it all. Yet its not that hard to check if someone is playing that long ever day.

this isn't about whether games cause violence anymore. this is about whether games can be used to train for militant actions. i mean, i obviously they can't (not effectively at least), but this has gone so far beyond "video games make people violent." the emphasis in news articles about this trial on the video games thing is really worrying to me. but yeah. new witch hunt incoming.

Anders Breivik is trolling and what he did is unforgiveable. As a Swede i feel sorry for Norway and their loss.

In the late 15th and early 16th centuries we had the Spanish Inquisition

From February 1692 to May 1693 we had the Salem Witch Trials

In the early 21st century we'll have the Gaming Inquisition or the Gaming Extremist Trials (take your pick)

i have to admire the bravery of the norwegian people and the way they have behaved ,especially towards this monster.this was nothing to do with video games.all this was about was a sad little man trying is best to get notoriety.he should have been shot at the scene so this would'nt be taking place.

    Thead 4 on this V_V

I wish that mass murderer didn't get so much attention, seeing how he craves it so much.

And seeing how pretty much everyone here agrees on the lack of a relation between his deeds and playing mmorpgs we really have nothing to gain by posting threads about this. Apart from restating the obvious.

Best way to get back on him is by forgetting him as soon as possible while he rots away in jail.

totally off topic, but darkpony, why is daddy mispelled in your sig lol?  Assuming she doesn't have some weird way of saying it, it doesn't make much sense (since she's not spelling it).   need a sticky topic devoted to this discussion.

People feel the need to blame something when a horrible event like this happens.  I think that people won't or can't believe that there are some truly bad people out there.  The truth is we all have free will, and ultimately can only be responsible for our own actions.

Give a gun and lots of ammo to every person in a country and then watch the gun-violence related statistics shoot through the roof.

Weeeeell I do think it possible, even likely, that violence in video games sort of jades the soul to violence in real life. But, the news does that, too. How many times do you hear about people killing each other before you stop being surprised anymore? Plus being less repulsed by violence doesn't necessarily mean you are going to become more violent, I'm sure doctors, morticians and med examiners are able, over time, to get over just about anything they see on their table. You sort of have to, if only to stay sane.

Take the guns away and watch the profits on the black market sky rocket without eliminating the problems that the guns cause anyhow.

The "Youtube Pro": Someone who watches video's on said subject, and obviously has a full understanding of what is being said about such subject.
