Played coop with a friend. Me a Barbarian him a Witch Doctor. Unfortunately the servers disconnected us and now we can't get back in due to an error message. All part of the stress test I suppose. Anyway, the game is just great. It really captures the spirit of the old Diablo games but greatly improves on practically everything. Us old-time Diablo and Diablo 2 players are just ecstatic. This game is going to be monstrously huge.

This was the first Diablo game I've ever played and it just reminded me of playing Dark Alliance or Champions of Norrath without as much choice. It felt like it really belonged on a console rather than PC and that a gamepad would have been far better than keyboard and mouse. Otherwise I guess it was ok (I was fine with the graphics).
is the game any good ? despite the problems .......
Question about witch doctor.
Once you equip your secondary spell (the aoe snare) to your right mouse button, how do you attack with your equiped weapon? Or are you stuck just using the aoe snare and primary attack?
It's very fun to play. Only complaint so far is that It's pretty easy in the beta, but that should ramp up as you progress. Fortunately it's not as easy as it used to be. You can actully see your health orb move when you get hit now, so it's more of "acceptable easy" than "completely ridiculously easy beyond all reason," so definitely a big step in the right direction here.
I also like combat isn't as dumb as in Diablo 2. My Barbarian actually has a unique resource mechanic compared to the other classes and it's actually effective to not just spam the same ability almost constantly, which happened loads in Diablo 2.
I won't worry about it then, I was just curious.
Never played diablo 1 or 2. But I did play Titan Quest and a few diablo'ish games and my experience of the game so far has been... meh.
I honestly don't see the appeal, and other games like it have done it better. I will admit the graphics are nice however. The game feels too... simple. No choosing powerups, or stats, or anything customized whatsoever other than gear. I just simply found myself bored after an hour or so. Tried multiplayer co-op and found it was the same issue.
The game was also absurdly easy. Yes I know you unlock difficulty levels later on that add at least some form of challenge. But I don't want to play through the entire game to begin with on pacifier-mode, I'd like to start it on "has a pair" mode. Where I can't beat the game blindfolded. (Honestly with some AOE skills, you actually CAN beat some stages blindfolded.)
Anyway, glad I got to try this open beta, I likely would have bought it if I hadn't had a chance to see it wasn't all that good here and now. So it was a good thing I tried it. Still I was hoping this would have been a gem, since games are just getting so stale these days.
PS: I will say I was at least pleasently suprised to find out it wasn't a genderlocked piece of crap. With all the single gender videos/screenshots etc I've seen, I was really worried about that.
To find an intelligent person in a PUG is not that rare, but to find a PUG made up of "all" intelligent people is one of the rarest phenomenons in the known universe.
I have been in the beta since like the 2nd wave of invites.. it will be good to play through once.. but do NOT expect a reason to keep going back. It is def. worth buying for the story if you are a fan.. hell and even if you aren't. The game was much more fun in the early betas.. with each patch they removed the fun bits that might have given it more online playtime. Oh well, Blizzard has a history of screwing themselves but still put out products that are good for a while and D3 is no exception.
Bottom line.. buy it if you can afford it, well worth it as a single player game to play through once.
